A sixth chick was hatched just before midnight. It's older brothers and sisters are already bigger and more active by comparison. It's amazing the difference a day makes! I think I just heard a tiny peep from the last egg.

I woke up at 5:30am this morning to thunder too....DH & I drove up the road to watch the storm roll in....lots of lightning strikes, too. Dry lightening.

Cash ran away somewhere (he's terrified of the thunder).

I have my 36-week doctor's appointment at 11am today....I'm actually kind of nervous about it.

Yeah I have lost birds to the heat too...not this year but a few years back I lost all of my LF Salmon Favs.

It was over 90 here yesterday and my little bantam favs were panting but I have a fan on them and it was 8 degrees cooler in the coop than outside.
