T HI is in panic!!!! Seems she is supposed to go get her twins from the airport and just found that she has a bolt in a tire. Only place open is Walmart and they don't know if they can fix it. Any body close to her that could help the girl out with a ride to the airport to get her kids. Then she can deal with the tire after.

I was happy to do it. Gave me an excuse to go visit Toni for a while and meet Daffy the house duck, and Carly, 2 1/2 lbs. of doggy love. Bonus of paying it forward - Toni gave me some of her beautiful duck eggs and a rhubarb plant to take home!
We did have a very nice visit. If I hadn't already been at the theater all day for rehearsal and needing to get home she would have been hard pressed to get me off of her back porch. Another bonus - when I got home after being gone for nearly 10 hours, DH had chicken barbeque going in the backyard. 10 minutes later we had grilled chicken, opened a bag of salad, some wine and my evening was all about the "ahh"...

(Making a note of this to offset the days I gripe about DH.)

I need to get a spare set - ended up getting to bed at 3:30, then back up at 7:30 to let the hens out. We've been using the set we have now for years, they are getting very thin. They are Sateens from Cotco. I used to have a spare set, but DH caught a toenail on a pill and ripped them. Didn't want a seem in the middle, so I threw them out. Each time I look to get more, I choke at the price

This is why I always get mine ar Ross or Marshall's on clearance (Tuesday Morning is more expensive than Macy's!). I think the sateen ones are really short-staple cotton, because they pill if you look at them cross-eyed. IKEA has inexpensive sheets in a lot of colors but they either have to be ironed (which, no, just no) or washed several times to be really soft- but they last forever after that.

I'm like the princess and the pea when it comes to bedding; a single rough place drives me sleepless. I'm really sad that the Egyptian Cotton ones are on their last legs, even if they're boring old white. They've been good to me.

boring old white Egyptian cotton sheets actually show up fairly often at the thrift stores ... people get fancy printed sheets and ditch the nice old ones that don't pill ....

I would help if I could, but ...

1) the Trooper has the back seat removed so I could store chicken feed in it
and
2) I don't trust its transmission, it's been making funny noises (DH is out at an event in Puyallup with the Yaris)

Okay, I may be confused. I thought there was a Bonney Lake in Idaho or near Idaho or somethin. Course I had had only 1 cup of coffee when I wrote this.

I think that is Bonners Ferry (sp). It's ok you just go ahead and have ya a couple more mugs of that nasty growth stuntin mud!!

Well, I like my mud.
And, I think you are correct. Oops.

That is my experience when my kids were little....eat like piggies....then out grow their shoes, shirts, and jeans.

Yeah I think she's about to start. The past week she has been a piglet, now she is starting to sleep ALOT! Like she gets up at 7AM, then passes out at 11AM, gets up at 4PM and goes back down around 10:30-11PM... Normally she doesnt nap until around 2-3PM and gets up around 5PM.... Someone needs to come up with clothes that grow with the kid for a few months! lol Chloe has chunked up, so at the moment none of her jeans fit her, but Im betting within 2 weeks they will fit again, just a little shorter! Shes getting SO TALL!!! not quite 3 yet and her head is level with my hip, and Im 6' tall!

I was taking pics of some chicks I need to sell yesterday...and my camera has a slight delay after I press the shutter before the pic is taken. My cute picture of a cockerel and pullet side-by-side turned into this:

Where do you get ground cherry plants? Do you need to start from seed, or can you purchase starts? Would they do ok in a hot frame, or other cover? What type of light do they require? If not full sun then I cant grow them here... All, well 90% of my shade has been given to the chickens... They sound quite interesting though!

I got mine (seeds) from Chickielady who got hers as seeds from Territorial Seed Co. Personally I'm not a fan of that company though

But you can get them at most Organic or Heirloom seed companies. My personal favorite being Baker Creek. They do need full sun, they need plenty warmth, I'd recommend a plastic cover or coldframe or something, but if you're in a decent area go ahead and try them as is.

Very, very, very few stores might sell Ground Cherry starts but it is unlikely. Most stores, if anything close, sell hybridized Tomatillos, Eggplants, and Tomatoes. I'd recommend looking online or getting a catalog to order from.

Thanks Illia! Ill look for them online!

Thats funny, and slightly embaresing. But whats even worse, is when your introducing a pony gelding to a new mare, camera has a delay, and you catch a mount instead of the pretty side by side...

Stupid hormonal pony. He puts EVERY mare he meets into heat!
