CL, Thanks for sharing that, it is SO AWESOME! The coolest tree house I've ever seen! If your barn is going to look like that, I gotta see it!

Hi! I wondered where you'd gotten to... glad to see you back!

My opinion.... First, I wouldn't use chicken wire at all because it can easily be torn through by dogs and other large animals. Here in Kitsap we have large animals. I'd suggest something with a heavier gauge like the 2" x 4" stuff. I'd install the hardware cloth such that a predator can't grab the top edge and pull to rip it down.

We also have a lot of hawks and eagles in the area. We had 2 young red hawks on or back fence again this spring and continue to hear them around frequently. So you definitely need a "lid" on your run. A friend of mine had to sit and watch a bald eagle eat one of her hens just last week (since they're protected).

SQUEEEEEEE!!!!

I just read the news...Grats RFF (and new daddy too!!!) and your new little chicklet

Thank you! We did have a nice visit didn't we? Definitely need a repeat sometime - and I did not care what kind of shape the house was in, it is adorable and immaculate!
Hope all has gone well with the last leg of the chicken transport today.

I will be so very very happy when I have the Wyandotte coop finished and not have to worry if I've offended Agnetha when I go to put water in her enclosure.

She was extremely unhappy with me today because someone had knocked over both waterers (which were half full at 10am) sometime before I got out there at 3pm: she bit me exactly hard enough for me to know I had been reprimanded.

Which reminds me, I have to go feed and water Ian and Sylvia and get the Hamburg's eggs before I wash my hair, oh well. Best go do it now. Hope the eggs are all egged.

Thanks CR,

Been around a while, I kind of like to keep a low profile.

There are times when I am not on the PC for a few days at a time, and it seems nearly impossible to keep up with this particular thread. Sometimes you just have to skip ahead, knowing you missed something vital.

I can so relate to not being to keep up and being afraid that I missed something that should really know about. I think that was the hardest part of coming back. I had to give myself permission to not read all the posts. I still seem to read most of the posts anyway.

Hi eenie. I have been thinking about you. Are you still coming back to WA at Christmas time? I would love to know when Rebecca comes again. I really liked her too.

I'm doing okay, aside from the fact that I'm impersonating a polar bear.

Though the broody virus has been spreading through my flock and me no like that, either. Miss Penny has gone broody TWICE this year now. Seriously. She hatched out si babies, raised 'em, took a break for two weeks, then got on the nest again. And Ella is taking her turn, too. Buff Orps, I can't live with 'em, I can't live without 'em.

I'll bet you twenty bucks it's already eighty degrees at home and it's two hours earlier there.

Hey if you are in town, you need to come and see me and all the nasty little rabid dogs. I have to meet up with my DMiL tomorrow at noon, but otherwise I am home most of the time.
