I had two bucks and a doe in the front yard this morning. One of the bucks was really strangly colored. He had lots of white on him, splotchy like a cow! I took pic's, I will upload them in a minute.

I've been busy canning pears today from our Bosc tree. I think I'll have 8 quarts when I'm done. I have a question for the canning pros here, when it says to put them in the water bath for 25 min's, do you start timing them from the minute you put them in? Or start timing when it comes back up to a full boil? These seem to be taking forever to come back up to a full boil. And they were hot packed. This is the first time I've canned anything quart size, so maybe that's why? What say you?

And my mammo is usually around Dec 1st. I'm sure I'll get the card in the mail any day to remind me.

Well said. And the yearly part is important. What they found in me was not there last year. So I'm going to be at their doorstep each year!
I think with all the junk we are exposed to that starting at 40 is a good idea. Had I waited till 45, I may not be here right now.
Great advice Chickie!

Sorry about your loss VF..It was awful, and still so recent.
I too have lost a wonderful young & promising family member, freshly released from the Army, and just had 2 babies..and was struck down with Colon Cancer.
My sister does the walks, every walk to collect donations for a cure.
I can't go too far due to my knees.
But I will DO whatever I can to help find a cure, and although it hurts, and reminds me everytime I get involved, I feel that it is necessary.
When we look away, it will get us.
In a few days we will all change our avatars back, but right now, we are trying to all we can, to support the living all we can.

Edited to add for VF:::::::::

This for CR:

Vegetable & Poultry Dust, flip the bird over in your arms, spread the feathers between the lgs & dump dust on, rub it in, try to sprinkle alittle all over the bird but not in face/nose /eyes or vent.

I have a big giant propane burner for oil cooking turkeys..you have all seen them, and it blows like a rocket taking off when turned on high.
So my canner is a slow boil when I put the jars in, cover, and crank the gas until it is a rolling boil but not violent.
Then turn it down to keep it from violent boiling.
With pears, I do 10 minutes of that kind of boil.
The water is boiling when I put the jars in.
Try cranking your burner up before you put the jars in.
Hope that helps.
