This is kind of like asking some where does milk come from. Many will answer the store.

And that is my point. Just because you have your own well there is still a cost to get that water to come out of the faucet.

It is in your electric bill because unless you have a spring and are gravity fed (which is not real common). It takes a pump to get the water out of the ground (wel). Ok so school is out we now return you to something more important. CHICKENS !!!!

now i know how the runt of chicks feels when its picked on.....

i am a bit envious that you guys can even take Vicodin.... i am borderline allergic. if i take any codiene family or vicodin or oxy.... i get really sick. always have to take with an anti-nausea that starts with a Z.... but even then the side effects return after 4 days... then sick. I don't remember being "high" just very productive.... as stupid as it was i planted the garden in 3 days before i got sick.... otherwise the pain killer + anti-nausea = me sleeping on the couch all day with the dogs.

anyone have ideas on what regulates the body's internal thermostat? i think mine is broken.... or also if anyone knows how to improve circulation in hands and feet i am out of ideas. my profusion index is .10-.8 on a good day. i am tired of cold feet (wears smartwool socks, even in summer)

Google "Raynaud's Phenomenon"
Other than that, with me it's my girls

, at this stage of life, if they get warm, I have a hot flash....

I heard it mentioned that might be what i have... not that it is useful. "avoid cold" i love to ski. i had electric heaters put in the foot bed of my feet in my ski boots to make sure that even if i can't feel my feet that they stay at a 'safe temperature'. in the summer i am cold.... and then lately. for no reason 35* outside is hot and I have sweated more since its been cold than I have all summer.
I know my blood pressure is generally low considering i am on Adderall XR and have a high sodium intake. generally in the morning when i wake up its 95/55 and later in the day 110/80.

I know last year i had my thyroid checked. it looked pretty normal. I was more curious about my other blood tests. Cos i know, feel, partially anemic at times. Last year when i was sick sooo much that when i looked up the different kinds of white cell counts it was crazy high for all 3 types tested.

you guys talking about hormones makes me ponder if chickens have hormone menopause? I mean they stop laying... but you think they have moments?

Raynaud's usually accompanies other auto-immune diseases, such as Rhuematoid Arthritis, or Celiac Disease, among others.
When I get in 40 degrees, my hands & feet will freeze.
The arteries close at the body trunk, and then they turn redder, then purple, and eventually numb & go black.
I try to get my hands & feet in warm water ASAP despite the searing pain.
When I hunt or have long periods exposed to cold, I use hand warmers (inside pockets and gloves) and toe warmers (stuck on top of toe socks and bottoms) it works great.
No amount of gloves or boots helps alone, as for some reason, my hands & feet KNOW.
It makes farming a challenge in cold weather (below 40 degrees)
Likewise, I suffer greatly and get really sick/heat stroke, in extreme heat..that's why being in NorCal was killing me.
Go to a sporting goods & get a big bag of hand & toe warmers.
Other than that, you probably have low blood pressure (I do) and sometimes you can get a doc to Rx something to raise the blood pressure..but that scares the wadding right outta me!!!

Yup- I was moving at a very relaxed pace when it got *dark* just before 4pm, so I got all busy and fast and made a hay net for the sheep pen and got him hay and put him under cover and checked all the chickens and got inside about five minutes before the rain started. I was actually ahead of things until the chicks started pitching a hissy and had to go do some emergency brooder clean up.

Good thing dinner doesn't have to be ready for another 40 minutes.

Yeah, I have low blood pressure too. Never thought to attribute it to my coldness! Makes sense though.

Iron levels can have a lot to do with it too - as in if you're low! I used to be anemic until my hysterectomy 6yrs ago. Always felt cold even on the hottest of days... my thyroid checked out every time and my BP stays within normal ranges even during moments of great stress. Anyway, since the hysterectomy, my iron levels have improved dramatically and I don't feel nearly as cold as I used to. (Oh, and my hormone levels indicate I'm not even peri-menopausal yet!) I've always done very well in places like Phoenix, AZ because of it - even in the middle of the summer!

Hey wait a minute...my parents always told me that a cow had 4 faucets...one gave whole milk, one gave fat free, one gave chocolate, and one gave strawberry milk. Are you telling me they were wrong?

Iron levels have nothing to do with Raynaud's, but they can effect the body's ability to carry Oxygen to muscles, etc, if you are "normal"
Increasing Iron if you have Raynaud's, does nothing but make you constipated...
