Those are gorgeous! What do you have planned for all of them? They look great on the little tree, don't they?

They're going to be Christmas presents.
Some of the beads were cat's eye beads left over from another project. I thought they added an interesting effect.

Your grand chicks are fine here until after Thanksgiving Candy. I know what an annoyance it is to try and think up proper housing in a hurry. I was just perusing Craigslist for an attractive, sturdy, grow out coop for next spring so I can start hatching again. Of course, I'd like to keep the costs under a certain amount and I have a feeling DH is going to hit the roof when I let him know I'm looking for another coop...

I did find some pretty ones on the website "Better Coops and Gardens", but I'm afraid with delivery it's going to bust my Mad Money bank.

Miss Whitey Ford is keeping her hoodlums, I mean boys, under her care in the big coop but with only 2 roosts it is getting a bit crowded. They are growing into big boys now and SO pretty! Expanding roost space with new poop board is a honey dew project near the top of the list but still not sure when it will be done. The boys are actually very well behaved, but I worry that either they are going to get picked on, or Whitey will beat the cr** out of anyone who gets too close to her precious charges.

It's been quite entertaining though and a successful experiment I think. It is clear to me that Whitey is not only a competent broody hen but a very attentive mother. Those boys are getting close to 10 weeks and she still keeps an eye out for them. So if I haven't said so before, thank you for the EE egg loan and opportunity to hatch and raise chicks with a broody. It's been an invaluable learning experience for me. I'm glad we were able to rehome the girls and I'm looking forward to seeing how Suzanne's pretty silver girls grow.

Thank you. Yes, DS is doing good with it. He knows everything I know. We have been very up front and honest with him from the beginning. He knows that we almost lost him for good, and that we are lucky to have him with us still, and that it's going to be a long road to recovery. DH has been having a hard time, after we almost lost his gpa last year, and now his dad. The annual family elk hunting trip has always meant a lot to him, they've all been making that trip together for 18 years, and he is having as hard a time with the trip possibly never happening again as he is with everything else. The area they go to means a lot to him, and I know it sounds odd, but I think he is grieving for that nearly as much as anything else. We took "one last drive" around the area Thursday evening, and he saw one elk...it was almost like a sign...it was really something to see the change in him just seeing that one animal...

I just spoke with DH a few minutes ago. FIL had a really good night, and made it through surgery #1 a whole lot better than the drs expected. The facial surgeon said that he thinks he can get everything else done with just one more surgery. That's a WHOLE lot better than 2-4 more surgeries!!! Whew! The prayers are working!!! Keep 'em coming!!!

Seriously CR? Did you call and get it for sure? I hope so - I'm also looking forward to seeing how you fix it up!
