Yes, I bought them at Whole Foods. I mentioned here that I had never hatched eggs before, and asked if I should try with some cheap eggs before I bought $ ones I really wanted. Someone said that was a good idea (don't recall who, not that it matters - sounded like a good plan to me). I did ask Tamara about eggs (since I like Lav Orps) but she said she wasn't getting many right now. I figured that would be the case for most people.

I just checked my birds. They're dry, no problem. However, the two EEs were on the perch, and the rest were huddled underneath them, getting s#&@ on.

I put everybody up on the perches.

Ah, that's my girls. Fine. I realize I can take no credit for them since they were Candy's eggs and Whitey Ford raised them. But I did provide them with food and water occasionally.

I knew you'd like that.

What??? Nice tip CR, though I don't know who you could possibly be talking about. Who wouldn't know to take care of that kind of stuff with extra caution?

Sheesh.

I'm with you Sadie, his post came out of the blue and haven't a clue who or what he was referring to? Rustler? What made you say that?

Sadie, so glad your daughter made it home safe! Hope you have the best Turkey Day ever.

Right CGG?

About the cell phones? You could probably color me embarrassed.

And thanks CGG. It is great to have her home this week. I don't even mind her asking "So what's for dinner tonight?" instead of opening up the freezer like every other two legger in the house does.

I'm sure this will only be the first venture into hatching for you. Once you start, you may not want to stop. If you get any chicks from this hatch - maybe find new homes for them and then let the next successful hatch be something you'd really love to keep. Some of my favorite chickens have come from eggs on this very thread. I love 'em all, but there is something special about those you've raised yourself!

ETA: And although some of the eggs I've purchased from some of our friends here were a little more expensive than others, they were for the most part VERY reasonably priced and I have got some quality birds from those eggs! So the $$ was well worth it. Great birds from thoughtful breeders who you know can hardly be beat.

Lets just say I saw more about somebody's family than I wanted to.

That's scary. I will say that in that box were not only my phones but phones I had collected from other family members. I didn't have a camera phone in that box. Although now I'm starting to think about what family members did have evidence in there. Hmm...
Thank you for deleting anything you might have seen CR!

I did not see anything so to speak revealing. Just a wee bit of lifestyle.

and I would have offered eggs except you said I was too far away, and my girls were tapering off rapidly on the egg laying == only Ginger is still laying, and her eggs are still a bit smaller than usual chicken eggs, Julia managed to hatch one of the ?four? she had, and I think Dana got zilch out of two or three of hers

but in case mine start again, after Christmas, think of me ...
