These 2 birds have no relation at all, so I doubt it's heredity...I'm curious if it's a dosage thing...how many mg/kg do you use?

Yes, I've seen it a lot and it's scarey. This proposal seems a little scaled down. Before, it had nothing to do with crossing state lines. Every animal on every farm was going to be required have a microchip. Anytime an animal dies or was sold you would be required to report it. Can you imagine the expense and time involved! Record keeping nightmares. Not only the small farmer but the government agency that would be required to process the info that they will be spending our tax dollars on. Government is cutting spending all over the place. This definately is something they need to abandon and not spend another dime on. It will put many small farmers out of business.

I have also heard it rumored that some believe its a plot by the big corporate food producers who are also big supporters of certain government candidates to put the small farms out of business. Small diversified farms are growing and taking a piece of the pie that the big guys want.

Well...I can't see everything in this shed, because there's so much stuff in it, but it looks as though a cable should run to the top (and doesn't). I imagine that would be some absurdly high expense to install. So if I'm way off-base here, do tell!

Outlets. Like I said - too much stuff in there for me to see where this ends up.

...and they go here...

...which looks like this outside (stupid cheap camera focused on the plants). Does that look like a place for a line to hook up? (to the bolts)

Mystery item (not ours!)

After freezing my butt off in the 32 degree weather (I've become such a wuss - not looking forward to Iowa temps in a couple of weeks), I promised Ari she could hang out with the chicks instead of the big girls outside. All was well until someone took a stinky one in the basket - and then Ari was not interested in sitting with them anymore.

Perhaps you didn't use it in the right dose then. We used some about 2 1/2 months ago. Vet said not to eat the eggs for a month after. She then molted (the chicken, not the vet) and finally stared laying a couple of days ago. So, no sterility here.

Edited for clarification

Oh, lord, this would be a good day to have someone help me. My right shoulder has been giving me heck for a while, which is bad because my left shoulder pretty much always hurts. The cold has sunk into my bones, and I need to tether the sheep out before he gets even more nuts, which is a task that involves all sorts of failure-points for messing up my right side. Instead, I've found out my hired hand has a chance at a real 40-hour-a-week position, which I wish her to get with all my heart, but then I get to start looking for a non-crazy helper with a driver's license again.

I've got a stove again, finally, much much less hassle and hand-holding than Sears requires and less griping about my driveway.

It looks as if Ariloveschickens' shed hasn't been rewired in living memory: all knob and tube, and nothing that would pass any kind of inspection. I have my way of dealing with those things but I also have an outside outlet, so that's no good.

Sadly I hate to tell ya but the last pic is the only one that looks worth keeping !

No the shed looks ok what I can see but the knob and tube wiring needs to go to the recycle man. It is pretty hard to tell if there is power with out grabbing wires to see if I do the funky chicken !

Is it possible to get a better look at the wires coming from the house and where they go into the shed?

Used the dose the avian vet told me to use....

All in all, it doesn't matter for these two birds, they are pets first and foremost. I just won't use it for birds that I NEED to have breed later on, and wanted to warn others that is COULD happen....

I don't think there *are* any wires going to the shed, unless they could be underground. That's why I thought maybe they once attached at that outside point on the shed (in pic). I don't see any wires going through the air to that shed.
