That is so true about the price of place's, the most Ive paid it 150 for a 2 day show, I came away a little over even but did get returning sales.
Its so hard, I think Im going to add things to what I sell.

I stopped doing shows for exactly that reason....seems like the cost is way too high and what do you get? A folding table (maybe) and they've clearly not done their fair share of marketing so if anyone shows up, its mostly lookie-loos and not people coming to SPEND MONEY on HAND CRAFTED things.

I have good luck with other forms of networking and comissions.

There is a place on the way to Black Diamond that has windows for a great price, I'll see if I can head that way and get the name for you to call them.

Hate to tell ya but they will out grow that a lot faster than they will out grow a heat lamp. If you do use a heat lamp make sure it is in a ceramic fixture. Also put it in acorner of the stall. Then put a board Diag across the corner high enough that the kid can get under but not the doe. Other wise the doe may stand there and get burnt. We actually had one doe stand ther and her hair started smoking and stinking. That is how I learned .

oh yea, there will be a heat lamp, but I know a lot of people who put clothes on their kids! I'm counting chickens tho, cause my does aren't prego yet

So if they are bred by this mext month, hopefully it will be warmer when they do kid!!

You shouldnt need any coats, just make sure they are nice and dry and yes a heat lamp. Are you taking them away from mom? Best thing to do if you want a really frendly goat.

I know some people that pay $250 for a table at a farmer's market that happens every other Sunday. They get a 6' folding table for that.

Is there a reason you are breeding for June kids ??? Also if you have June kids there is no need for heat lamp !

your right, probably won't need it, and yea, it took me that long to figure out if I was going to be able to handle kidding and to find a buck to use for breeding. I am a Nubi, to Nubians and goats in general!

so, at first I wasn't sure if to breed, when to breed ect. I have a friend that breeds meat goats, she said, may and june kids are good, cause your usually past the cold, and your mortality rate goes down, she has changed her breeding schedule to reflect that too, she's been breeding goats a long time.

So I took the doe to the vet last night the one who has been down. He looked at her and said she looks good I dont know. Than as he did the exam he said she's had some kind of brain injury and she wont get better.. Was really suprised that I kept her this long with how she was. So last night she went to be with my mom. She will be happy there and out of any pain ( she didnt show any pain). She will be missed. I kept thinking all last night had to go out and take care of her, than thought again...

yes I will, have to try my hand at cheese and soap this year, this is my research and learning year, if I make it through kidding, learn the cheese making and soap making processes, and have my own in house success, then I may proceed to bigger and better things. Time will tell, did you get my e-mail by the way Zgoat?
