So here is my remaining chick - our version of a pocket chicken for now, since she's getting to run around the living room and climb in my lap.

Any ideas on what breed (or mutt) she might be? (Yes I realize the pictures are pitiful). And is it common to have strips along the neck with no feathers yet??

As for EGGS...I would like to try hatching some lavender and splash/blue/black (really hoping for splash) orpingtons when it gets a little warmer - maybe March or April?

If you hover over a user name, there's a drop down menu, that has "block member"...maybe that's it?? I don't know if it just blocks them from contacting you, or if it makes their posts invisible...??? Do you know what it's supposed to do?

What are the possibilities for parentage? Yes, it's common at that awkward adolescent phase to have those feathers missing...

Nah, she came from a big hatchery. The person I bought her from ordered a large batch of "mixed layers". He wouldn't even say who he bought from, just that he "hadn't had luck with the major hatcheries and got these from a wholesaler". He thought the black chicks were sex-links. I guess, looking at pictures of sex-links, he could be right. She has a little bit of that red-brown coloring around the neck.
