Hey 4312!!! Good luck to your boys!!!
Crazy that they have to drive all the way over here for meets! Maybe next time that they are over on this side some of us can go cheer them on for you!![]()
Hallo, Washingtonians! Figured I'd toss out an introduction here. I live in Anacortes with my wife and 3yo son. We have 2 chicken-friendly dogs (a Boston terrier and a boxer/pit mix). We bought a house last summer and I took that opportunity to fulfill my dream of a small backyard flock. I got a coop and found a craigslist ad with lots of pullets on Whidbey Island. I ended up taking 1 RIR, 1 Australorp and 2 golden-laced Wyandottes. The RIR and the Australorp were clearly red in the face and laying. The owner had a huge flock, though, and couldn't remember when the Wyandottes were chicks. I figured they'd be laying within a month or so. Well ... 3.5 months later, we finally are getting eggs from one of them and the other is getting redder and redder, so hopefully we'll see an egg from her any day now.
Any others in this area? Skagit has been a bit of a shock to my system. I never realized what a city girl I was until I moved here. But we've grown to love it. Well, that's about it. Hi! Hi!
And it's not just asking about birds... It's asking about any and all livestock.
The snow flood gates have opened up here...![]()
