Michelle maybe you can find some ideas for home made incubators here on this web site...and get it up and working before the time comes...and if I was closer I would come get the guineas and put them in my bator...but you are too far...good luck !
Another idea is look for a bator on Craigslist ?

I have got to get some work done !

ooooh so I candled my pheasant eggs today thinking that because my thermostat went haywire I might just have to toss all the eggs!!! EVERY egg minus one shows signs of life! I am soooooo happy!

Now I am not so wary of bringing home more hatching eggs tomorrow!

The pound in Idaho e-mailed me, and they do not have any way to transport a dog.
(They have been dragging California pound dogs up HERE for months now !!!!

) So I asked for more photos t be sent to my e-mail and a file of adoption papers be sent and I will send a deposit, and we will road trip as fast as we can as there is no protection here or anyone to care for the animals while we are away !!!

Hahahahaha!!! My hubby said the same thing (about building another coop with three rooms) for me, jess and fran!! Plus our 150 chickens we all plan on having!!

I moved all my pheasant eggs to my little giant, decided to use my home made as a hatcher....I am hoping it works...and ya Marans AND Ameraucanas!


Hopefully my other little giant shows up soon so I can get my quail eggs started!!!!! I am going fowl crazy!!!! its so much fun!

Well Chickielady you have officially corrupted me. After I got your post I started worrying so I went on craigslist and just came home with a little giant incubator with egg turners. I will blame it all on you!

I have officially become obsessed with my chickens

Now for the wait game. The 21st day for the first egg is today. Just waiting to see what happens. As for the incubator I have no idea what I am doing so if you k now please let me know. Also sorry for being stupid but what does it mean when everyone says they are in lock down. The incubator is a year old so fairly new. I only paid 40.00 for it so I am happy, thats just one night not going out to eat. So 12 eggs to start today, I will let everyone know as they come.

Oh by the way that puppy is really cute, I hope it works out for you, please let us know!!

Ha ! My DH Gary said the same thing, and I do not have 150 !!!!!
and after leaving our remodeled house inNor Cal, and now we are in a lawn mower barn.....a 3-room chicken house sounds mighty good to me !!!!!

This is our house we moved into last September....
