Hello all. I am 300+ posts behind. I will try to scan through them. I will be bringing a few birds to Monroe. I am staying with my cousin in Duall. I am excited. I can hardly wait to see ya'll. Please PM with details if there is something/anything that I need to know. I am washing birds tomorrow....and trying to keep them clean until Monroe. LOL.

You and me both, and the only reason I'm sitting here now is I washed my hair and am trying to get it dry enough to put it on velcro rollers so it'll dry all pointing in one direction before I scarf up and go to Home Depot.

I'll be at Monroe, I hope and trust, although at the moment it's complicated by all of the able bodied adults being out of town on the 17th: daughter to Missouri to empty out her fiance's storage room, sister and brother-in-law to Ritzeville, I think, for a bull sale, son permanently elsewhere in E'burg. I don't have any cows near calving right now (although a week is sufficient to change that!) but my little herd is the tag-end of things. If anyone goes wrong on the other two places, an over-18 person needs to be with the nephew to make a vet call.

if she has missing feathers then Quincy is doing his job lol get her a saddle if it gets bad. and you can wash up your birds, put them in big crates or a small pen full of clean shavings in the house or garage. you need to blow dry out the fluff at least. they will stay warm if indoors. keep them in their travel cages thursday night to stay clean

Will do, thank you. Hopefully Quincy does not crow...DH may not appreciate that. LOL. Oh, well. I'll put them in the basement. I am getting very excited about this. I see Quincy going at the "layers" when I let them run together...but I have never seen him with Che' or Ellen....but Ellen shows the signs of happening. I would really like to try and hatch some eggs...I think I will pull the Orp girl's eggs out and set them.

It's probably a good thing that I am working on St Patricks Day. I would go broke and bring home more chickens and what my DH not so fondly calls "Clutter". I would love to have this sign and hang it on my coop.

OK so if I were to make some of these for Monroe. How many may be interested. I will have to see what I have for materials. And may make different sizes. Any suggestions on size ? ? ? Of course the will be cut out of various metals in a negative style. That means all the black is gone.

So I found this site about sexing young chicks...
http://www.ithaca.edu/staff/jhenderson/chooks/sexingchicks.html

My chicks are now exactly three weeks old. There are some that clearly have long tail feathers. There are a couple that are more downy and have no tail feathers whatsoever. So those are clear-cut, based on this chart. But what about the ones that have little tail feathers between the two extremes?

HI everyone hope you all are doing OK today.
My son came over this morning so we got busy early on things.
I made some sour cream scones today and all the guys liked them. They were so easy and really good too. Oh while I was doing that I reached in the frig and out came a big pan of chicken soup that I was making for dinner.. It was all over me the floor and what a mess
