Well, DH has left the building, should be far away by now.
he should, if travel goes well over the Siskiyous, arrive in Clearlake Oaks, CA by 6 PM.

We took the studs off & had new "summer tires" put on last week so hoping he does not have any snow/ice although we do have real chains for the van..............and so far I have had to put the chains on as DH had never done it before.
So hope he is OK

Before he left he drew out a plan of the Plucker with parts list in green ink pen that I had to overline in black to get it to scan.but I think it is OK.
So, I have a file to send out if anyone wants the plucker plans.

Right now I have a bunch of work to do & will log on later.

Anyone wanting plucker plans send me an e-mail (my addy is on my sig line) or a personal request written on a $20 bill sent to my address LOL !!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the plans for the plucker, also thank your DH for me.

Welcome!

Sorry that you have to build another coop but it sounds like you are taking care of your girls and they are giving you nice gifts of appreciation. Many times they stop laying as soon as they are moved. Have fun!
Hello all. I live in Kitsap County not far from Poulsbo. I just inherited 7 chicken so I built a small coop from a kit that said it would accommodate 7-10 chickens. Well, I don't believe it so I am building a bigger one from scratch. The current coop will be large enough for now especially since I built a large chicken run for them. I've only had them 6 days and they have given me 14 eggs already!
I'm lookIng to increase my flock my 3 more chickens. I'm brand. Ew at this and am reading everything on the subject I can find. Looking forward to advice and make some new connections with other chicken folks.

I just want to echo all the things Pettec63 said. Hopefully we never stop learning and growing but the transition can sometimes be a total pain! Let's think sunshine, new growth, and hope for what the future brings! What a relief it will be when school is finally over for you, huh? I'd suggest everyone sing along with me but I know you all don't want a "sun will come out tomorrow" tune running through your heads...

And a note to Julie - speaking of missing your daughters - I got a text from mine yesterday (who's at WSU where ReiMirra is) that said, "I'm feeling nauseous today. I really miss you! I wish you were here to take care of me!" And though I wasn't happy that she was sick, there is a small rejoicing when she actually tells me she misses me, even if it's just so I can serve her! After I gave her advice about what to eat and drink to get feeling better, she of course was better by that evening and feasting on lasagne with friends. Silly, sweet girls...

Well I can't remember how long your daughter has been out of the nest, but, hopefully and maybe she already has, she will one day admit " Mom you were right about everything"!!!
Now my son on the other hand, is still in the " I still know more than you ole gal" mode. But one can only hope!! LOL ! But, your right, I am glad they still call and ask for recipes and how to do things and when my daughter had dental sx she txt me and said, I want my mommy!! I know one day, she may not any more!! Glad your daughter is doing well enough to eat Lasagna!!!

OK have to go deal with Einstein and some new contraption he has made to keep me safe while he is away.......little does he know that I plan to throw a flare into the rat mobile (runs the vermin out quickly) and then I can haul buns (and whateber) where ever I want to go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Big girl can suck some gas though...none the less, the power can be UP LIFTING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as long as no pinkies fall out from under the dash I will be OK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally got out to visit my friend with the brain tumor. They released her from the hospital a few days ago. I'm shocked, stunned. Her doctors/insurance company will be recieving a few calls. She lives alone and cannot even stand up by herself! She has friends and neighbors taking turns staying with her and helping her with everything. In the middle of the night she got up to use the toilet and did not wake the person staying over; she toppled over and landed upside-down in the bath tub! She has thrush from all the antibiotics they pumped her full of and a severe rash over her entire body. She is puffy, hot, red, in severe pain, and so heavily drugged that she was not even coherent when they sent a physical therapist over to work with her today. It was the therapists first visit. The therapist was asking her questions that seemed to imply she was like this BEFORE the surgery, that the weakness was caused by her lupus and fibromyalgia. I let the therapist know this is one of the strongest women I know - she remodeled her own home by herself - heavy work too, new kitchen and deck too, and she did it all herself. She has an amazing garden too. She is not someone to sit around and feel sorry for herself.

I was trying to help her out a bit and was shocked because after only 3 weeks, she has almost no muscle tone. She should not be home. She should be in rehab until she is strong enough to walk to the bathroom on her own. The therapist said she will need to learn how to use a walker, but expects it will take weeks for her insurance to approve one. I am going to go to the senior center and see if I can locate one. I have already found a commode with arms that fits over the toilet so that she will have something to steady herself on.

Why would they let someone in that condition go home? They put big yellow bands on her arm that say "FALL RISK" and they sent her home with NO AID!

Why is it that we value $$$ over lives? This is cruel!

OMG!! That's awful!! Probably because her insurance won't pay something and she may not have enough coverage!! I am so sorry !! I am glad that you are able to help her!! She must feel like a burden and helpless, ESPECIALLY if she was a strong woman!! I know for myself, I feel that way now with the bursitis thing going on!! Yesterday I couldn't stand my house any more and I just plowed through the pain to get it clean! And I have so much to do to get ready for kidding in the next couple months!!
I hope you can find an advocate or someone to take up her cause!! It sounds like she needs one!! Bless you for being a good friend Mo!!!
