It is a very sad day today. We have decided that our little girl Shadow is making her last trip to the vet. She is no longer able to function; she has to be carried to her food bowl to eat or drink, and carried outside to relieve herself. I don’t know how much or if she is in pain, but it breaks my heart to watch her fade away like this. We shall miss her.

Oh and she's a corgi!! I'm sorry.

Just realized that I left Ian and Sylvia out last night. Not out-out, just not locked in their coop. Which since part of the roof of their run is just overlapped 1" mesh poultry netting and the baby owls will hatch this week or next...best not do that again.

How about a meet-up this Thursday, April 26, 7:00 p.m. at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park?

Who can make it? (Everyone is welcome. New peeps, this is a great opportunity to meet in person!)

For those who don't know: Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park has a community area with lots of tables and several coffee shops and fast food places. Essentially, a food court. Some of us eat dinner, some just a cup of coffee.

If someone will remind me that afternoon, I can. I remembered the next morning last time.

No harm, no fowl, I mean, foul.

That's what I thought too! =) But the mirror image is her sister (the way they all feathered early the three Brabranters look like girls to me - even with their beards!)

So sorry. Corgies have such huge personalities in so tiny a frame, they leave outsized vacancies.

Just one suggestion. while you are converting the 8x8 dog run, ya better add another 8x8 onto it!! You will need it. Take it from me!! I started with eight chickens and one coop. NOT sure what happend but now I have 33 chickens and six coops

Thanks guys...gonna head up to Dell's in Monroe to look at some 1 week old Buff Orpingtons. They have a minimum purchase of 6...I figure that would be a good start. I plan for the birds to be free ranging in our backyard during the day and in the coop at night. Jake (our 4yo German Shepherd) will be introduced to them from the start so he can stand guard during the day.
Cheers!
