CL or SF:
How much shade can a Lyda rose take?
What size should I expect in 5 years?
Many thorns? Any fragrance?
I've been thinking of adding one ever since way back when the two of you were writing about them.

Wish I could, but it's my youngest DD's science fair tonight!
One of these days I'll join you guys!

It is a very sad day today. We have decided that our little girl Shadow is making her last trip to the vet. She is no longer able to function; she has to be carried to her food bowl to eat or drink, and carried outside to relieve herself. I don’t know how much or if she is in pain, but it breaks my heart to watch her fade away like this. We shall miss her.

Hugs

Beautiful new baby! Congratulations! Alex loved hi baby sister until she could walk off with his things. Enjoy the next 10 months or so of sibling bliss; you will need to remember it when they are trying to strangle one another over a toy next year. Funny how Alex could not notice a toy of his at all, I could have thrown it away and he would not have noticed, but if his sister picked it up, she was ruining his most favorite toy in the world.

There is so much misinformation going around. A friend posted something on FB from some society professing to be for the humane treatment of chickens. It turned out it was a front for the battery chicken industry trying to prevent the new minimum cages size law from passing. One has to go to the source (in this case the bill in question) and see what it really says.

Hi, I've never posted on this thread before (overwhelmed by the size of it!! YIKES!) but I'd really like to find some people local to me. I have 2.5 week old ducklings and would really like to have them vent sexed. I just cannot for the life of me find anyone who can do it! I've posted on craigslist, called feed stores, avian vets. I only have 2 and I just need to be sure its not 2 drakes. I've read descriptions on how, and I know there's videos but.. I just can't do this myself. It has to be someone who for sure knows how to do it without causing damage. I had a terrible accident while hatching (incubator shorted out when there was 7+ zips, spiked the temp, killed all but one right before my eyes!) then we bought 2 more ducklings to keep the survivor company, then my 5yo stepped on one :( And topping it off, my mom's dog just ate 3 (of 5) of her newborn kittens. I seriously cannot handle any more preventable, accidental baby animal death. I'm becoming a neurotic, overprotective basket case of a duckmama. and thats the long version of why I'm not trusting myself to try to sex them myself.

Aaaanyway... I live in Kenmore. Is there anyone here near me who knows how to vent sex a duck?
