My two brown Easter Eggers - Camo & Echo are for sale. If anyone here wants them - $25 for the pair. (If they go on Craigslist I'll ask $40.)
I was supposed to sell them two weeks ago, had a Craigslist person keep calling and saying two more days! I didn't mind since I don't really want to sell them anyway
but my husband is asking why they are still in the backyard.
Anyway - one lays pink eggs, the other brown eggs. They are NOT the friendliest birds ever and I would not get them for children or pets. But they're great layers - about six per week.
Hi I'm from enumclaw WA. I currently have 2 Polish, 1 black frizzled,1 white Cochin, 1 golden sebright, 1 unknown, 1 mama red Cochin and her 8 baby Cochin/d'unccle mix babies. Haha and no more space!
Every hour I spend off the place is two it takes me to catch up, I swear. This weekend we went to Ellensburg to spend the elder spawn's birthday with him, and then yesterday we went up Yellum to decorate the family graves.
Which, when we turned onto Cook Road it struck me: has anyone heard from Kaneke?
Anyway, today's egg basket, for the fun of it. Only one Wyandotte (Agnetha; Anni-frid lays a paler egg), but every EE and Hamburg laid. The pale aqua egg is from Quinta, who is beardless, muffless, and has the Columbian gene, the olivish one is Tertia's, silver, bearded, and muffed, and the pale pink is Jinjur's, who is weird buffy-silver and muffed. They all have pea combs. Of the Hamburgs, Suzzie's egg is atop, Terre's is the whitest one, and Maggie's the smaller cream one.
Getting photos of the chicks is tricky, since they zoom around like water on a hot skillet.

Quote: Bring the water to a boil. lower the eggs into the water and continue to boil for 15-17 minutes. At the end of that time remove from heat, drain and fill with COLD water and ice if ya have it. Let stand for a couple minutes then peel. Just like eatin lettuce ain't nothin to it !

Maybe it's the type of egg? I hard boil fresh eggs (well, day old eggs), then plunge straight into cold water and crack the shell, leave the gg in the cold water. Wait about a minute, and they peel really well. Have never had a problem.
