Buckeye & Black Java started birds & hens at POL for sale.

Flock thinning going on here.............alot of flock thinning.
I am thinking of disbanding all the Buckeyes................PM me for details.

I've seen him post adds on Yakima's craig list saying he's passing through and buying birds. His route as been at times, from the Tri-Cities to Cle Elum. I went to his place when I just started getting into chickens. I was soo excited because he had lots of birds that where the age I was looking for. I was such a noob that I did not know what to look for. I told them what I wanted (4 Black Austorlorps and 4 Red-Sex Links) they grabbed them and put them in a box, took my money and I was off.

5 of them died a few days later. Thankfully I had done a fair job of quarantining, so I did not loose others. I had also picked up 4 or 6 chicks at the same time for a friend (well used to be friend) all of those birds died as well. They had that sneezey, cheesey eye, horrendous smelling respiratory thing.

About a month after, his Craiglist adds said something about "guarantee they live for a week, Nobody else does that!" -- I took that to mean he knew his birds were sick and were still selling them.

I think he does get a lot of birds from hatcheries, but he does not pay attention to them. From that day forward I vowed to only get birds from hatcheries - or from other folks like me who love their birds.

Thats a bummer! Im glad my 2 marans didnt get sick! Good to know. I wont tell people about him anymore.

Just found out that.....MY SISTER IS BACK

! My family sucks though. I have been working my butt off trying to find her, and I always check her facebook, this morning I checked it and she had posted "I'm ok" and that was it. So I tried calling my dad to tell him and he did not answer so I called my grandma to tell her and she said, "oh yes, I know. She showed up lastnight. Your dad wanted to wait to tell you so he could try and talk to her, but she wont tell anything".

So not only did they not call me the second she showed up, but he has not called the police to come take her to juvenial detention. If he does not call them, I will and then he is in deep chicken poop too! Om gosh I am so happy she is home now though. Thank you guys all for your help and your support, you all have been so great.

Im so glad to hear that she's back and you should turn your Dad in he needs to wake up!

I'm new to this posting thing, so bear with me....lol This is for the person who was looking to give their chickens probiotics. I give my girls probiotics by serving them organic plain yogurt. They absolutely love it and come running when they know I have it.

that wasnt me, but it is good to know! I am knew to the chicken world.. And do chime in whenever!!! I am rather new here myself and am soo grateful for all the great help and advice and the well simply put, Amazing, Kind and Wonderful people here!

Hi everyone! I'm from Aberdeen, Washington and am new to this site. Are there any others out there nearby? We are just starting our flock. We have 3 Silver Laced Wyandotte hens, 3 Black Australorp hens, 2 mixed bantam hens, and a Blue Aracauna bantam rooster. I'm looking forward to learning all I can from those of you more experienced chicken people
