So, how does it feel to be a mama hen ?

Addicting, isn't it ?
I wonder if it is the mother in us that makes us want to incubate eggs ?
Seems the guys even the chicken lover guys don't get into it as much as we women do !
When do the Turks hatch and what kind did you get ?

Thats what I get for reading this stuff on my phone, I miss a bunch!

Sorry about your BO, I have lost a few due to wandering off....

As for eggs to hatch? lol I have bought all the ones I have hatched.

Speaking of which! I got a package of eggs from the PO this morning..

The guy did such an excellent packaging job that I lost only ONE egg!
https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/55726_img00170.jpg

We shall see how well they hatch thanks to the Post Office!

And why won't the post office take responsibility for THEIR actions? makes me wonder, why should I have to pay more money for them to do what they should already be doing?

Holy Cow is that yolk dripping out ?
I will from this day forward demand that either:
1) I hand carry all my hatching eggs ...or
2) put lots of insurance on them against being crushed and broken !
Insurance from the P.O. is cheap compared to loosing eggs !
And the other eggs that are all yolky may not do well either cuz they cannot get air as well...but do not wash them !

Amazingly there was NO yolk on any of the other eggs! it got on the outside of the newspaper and never even made it to the bubble wrap. This guy did an awesome packing job! I was so angry and then pleasantly surprised!

Oh hell yes ! so addicting !!!!

I am going for bourbon reds next year.
I have to save something for next year !
Maybe more Guineas, too.
I had 3 out of 6 hatch, man are they cute, for now.
Glad I got them what with no big dog anymore AND a bobcat lurking who knows where !

Jess call the guy and tell him what happened.
Most ppl want to know if and how their eggs arrived to the buyer.
looks like a truck ran over the box, insurance !
Next time you buy, add a few bucks and ask the seller to please insure them for at least how much you are paying for the eggs.
I think alot of ppl do that.
I have never had eggs arrived broken, but I have heard horror stories...*****ask Monicas about the frizzle tolbunt polish eggs she won at auction and paid so much for !**********
I would be so fuming mad and heartbroken.
Hopefully she had insurance.

Ive seen this add a few times now... And I'm kinda wondering if they just dont know better?... Maby they are still new themselves, and had bought their hens from a hatchery? And we all know that hatcheries sell their EE'gers as Americana, and Araucana's... Or they could just not care less.
