Hello everyone!

Sorry about Jack, poor puppy dog! I hope he's feeling much better tonight

Today my friend came over and I got nothing accomplished ODS is at a VBS right now and I have to go pick him up soon but he's having a blast doing something that is just for him since the other 2 are too little. DH bought some movies today so we might watch one when I get back with ODS. Today my cat was being nuts! We were all outside and I was sitting in the grass with the chooks. He was watching, highly jealous, from the back porch, and suddenly he came bounding over quickly, right up to all the chooks, and then just stopped and looked at them! I thought he was going to attack one while he was running but apparently he just wanted to see what would happen if he charged them. Nothing did. They all stood up, stared at him, surrounded him, then he laid down and they just stood there challenging him. Totally bizarre. I think he knows now that they are too big for him to eat!

Jack had a few extra whiskers this morning.
he was chained to his dog house, and still we have never seen a porcupine here except the dead one on the road 2 weeks ago.
Having a great run with wildlife this month...........

To make matters worse, our Vet is out of the office today, so we have been referred to another.
DH is driving Jack around now to the referral vet.
Poor guy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he was really hurting !

Oh cool! No wonder you won't have any freezer space for roos.

The auction Zgoat mentions is the Enumclaw Sales Pavilion. Justbugged has taken birds there too.

I have been to one of his talks and they are very informative and he is great about answering questions during and after. He is very passionate about what he does and loves to educate. So if you can make it I would highly recommend going.

How much would one expect to pay for a 13 week pullet at that auction? I might go over there on Saturday just to see if there's any age appropriate pullets I could add to our flock...but I'm cheap and not going to pay $20 for a bird

Ive taken hens and roosters TO the sale barn, It depends on the day and how many people show up. Ive gotten $20 for a hen and Ive gotten $8 for a hen. I got $4 for a rooster once. So it just depends.

I personally have never brought anything home from the auction though. Ive heard of alot of people dumping their sick/ carrier flock there, so its definitely a quarantine situation you want to consider carefully.

Ooooohhhh, poor dear!!! Those things are nasty to get out!!! Hope they give him good pain meds!
