Also, my contact person, told me the Coalition Humane, contact person Holly Bukes, from Tacoma could possibly also be a source for you to get some help.
Contacted one of the vets out here and they gave me the ph# for HAVA.
So that is on my tomorrow list.
Apparently they help spay/nueter also.

I hope that this information will help someone.

you can also contact the Pierce County Humane Society for financial help.. they have the Cinderella Program, but it is based on income so I have no idea how that would work for you---never hurts to ask though, explain what you are trying to do. There are a lot of cat people out there who are very good at helping as much as they can.

A Calm Night with a Few Light Showers
Updated today at 5:46 PM
After a calm and mainly dry afternoon around Puget Sound today, we will see a few more clouds roll in tonight with overnight lows in the mid 50's.
A series of very weak weather systems will rotate out of the Gulf of Alaska into the area tomorrow through the weekend .
I think the best chance for showers will be overnight tonight and mainly along the coast and in the Cascades. A few of those showers have the potential to drift into the lowlands tonight and tomorrow, but most of us will remain dry.
Highs Friday will hover in the upper 60's.
High pressure builds back in Friday afternoon, and by Saturday we will be back to more sun and warmer temperatures. Look for highs into the 70's.
Another week system pushes through Sunday for partly sunny skies and a slight chance of showers with highs around 70.
Next week will continue to see partly sunny skies with only an occasional chance of a shower. Highs will hover around 70 for most of the week. This pattern looks likely to continue through the 4th of July weekend.

wah.. I candled the eggs under my butterscotch call yesterday, they were due this week, and have seen no signs of life.. so while mom was off bathing and eating I peeked.. they all appear to have died at about the same stage.
Anyone remember that big thunderstorm we had last month? or maybe it was the beginning of this month.. anyway, someone told me that a bad thunderstorm will kill embryos... was just curious if anyone else was familiar with this? There was HUGE thunder right over our area during that storm.

Looks like a cool article.
I have not checked out the rest of their articles, but will sometime.
We have a few more days for one last hatch of chicks due Saturday....and then we are vaccinating them all, big girls and babies.
It will have to be first thing in the morning, and have plenty of helpers, and spray paint a red dot on the tail feather of each bird vaccinated, as we then release them into the yard.
If I can find some plastic leg bands, I will use them instead of the paint marks.
Where in tarnation is everybody this morning ?????

We had 9 blue ameraucanas hatch, one almost completely zipped but died, and 2 eggs yet to pip but were dark when candled.

We have 13 EE's to go....then vaccination day !

Where is everybody ?????

Congrats on your hatches!!! My turkeys are due tomorrow... everyone keeps saying how difficult it is to hatch turkeys out here but I am not giving up hope! Just REALLY worried! lol

Will you get the hen some other fertile eggs or maybe one or two other ducklings or goslings to raise ?

We have snuk in the coop at dark, removed the eggs and replaced them with babies from the feed store...works great !
