As far as I know it's safe for both dogs and chickens to eat the poo that they do. It does gross me out, but I don't freak out over it. I have simply gotten very good at not letting any of them kiss though.

Apes at the zoo do the same thing. I just about lost my lunch once when an ape laid down a nice steamy patty, then picked it up and proceeded to eat his hot lunch.
sickbyc.gif
Now, when the kids ask to see the apes, I dread it.
I watched in horror at a Big Gorilla poo'd, then picked it up & hucked over the mote at the crowd (us....all of us !)
This was at Flyshaker's in San Franciso.

It is not currently on the *state* noxious weed list.

Class "A" noxious weeds are required to be controlled. B and C are controlled on the local level, if at all.

Counties have their own noxious weed lists.

ETA: This is what I get for replying before reading the rest of the thread. Foxglove might have been listed as a noxious weed in years past, but not all noxious weeds are required to be removed, in fact most are not. The noxious weed label is also supposed to prohibit sale and distribution. Supposed to! That's why it's been so hard getting ivy on any list.
It is a native species here, right ?
Noxious in that it can kill livestock, but native nonethe less.
Now blackberries are on MY LIST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Holly, we have several large Holly trees, and sprouts all over !

And Water Hemlock...talk about drop-dead poisonous !
One very good reason I cannot get goats.

Thank you, cousin!

How awesome can this place be...to meet relatives you didn't know you had?

I am still trying to pronounce many of the names you sent
lol.png
and love that my great, great, (x8) grandfather was a farmer! Bet he had lots of chickens!

Now I need to see if my uncle has access to the database you are looking at, he has been looking into our history and this will be so exciting for him!

thank you again!

I know, totally amazing right?!
big_smile.png
The database is at www.islendingabok.is and its such a blessing to be able to look folks up and see all the different connections. If you are an Icelandic citizen you can get free access but I'm not sure how it works for others, I'm sure there is some way to find out. I can trace my family back to the 700's through the database, and you could probably do so as well, I could at least see our mutual ancestors back to the 1200's, but there are probably some lines that go back further.

I can't see what our "great to the power of 8" grandfather Magnús had on his farm, but if he had chickens I know they were Icelandic settlement chickens, they didn't have anything else back in the 1600's!

If you need any tips with pronunciation just let me know and I'll try my best to explain :)

Slim doesn't seem to be getting smaller but she looks smaller in comparison to the others. As if she has stopped growing at the same rate.

Is there any possibility a bantam got mixed into the flock?

Make sure you with hold feed from all you are going to process, for at least 8 hrs or you end up with full crops & poo squirts...yucky.

There goes the idea of picking one up at the Enumclaw Auction.

Ewwww!

Oh my gosh - that's WORSE than watching one eat his hot meal.

Just another reason to avoid the gorilla. LOL!
