If your BLRW was BLUE, I'd be all over that! LOL Just curious--though...have any pics?

Heather, well, he may be a very dark blue. I just went and took some pics. He's definently not dark black like our black cochin roo.
This pair are from eggs I got from Okiehen/Sharon, and they are Bill Braden lines which I'm really pleased with. The coloring is much more a deep red mahagony.
I also have one hen from Lowell Barber lines, which is much more gold in color.

The birds below are a little bit older.

Our other roo we got from Monicas and I'm not sure of it's line history, and it also seems to be more gold in color (Wyatt):

Russ and Ron, I talked to the lady at the feed store in Woodinville and she says this has been a really wierd year and she has 2 that aren't laying, one hasn't layed in 2 1/2 months and the other for about a month. So I am just going to wait it out. I think she may have molted. It looks like someone had a pillow fight in the coop and the pillow busted. She looks fine on the surface but I bet if I picked her up and looked she would have some pin feathers growing in now. It could be another month or so. If she doesn't start laying again by next spring, she may have to be replaced. I won't get rid of her, but I may have to add to the flock. Gee, what a tragedy!

We will see.

Good to see you guys posting too. I haven't posted much lately, been spening a lot of time with the family and riding horses. Oh, and working.

Gosh...I'm really tempted....I am just not sure where I'd put him right now...my newest coop won't be done until at least August and my other coop is filled to the rafters (literally) with too many breeds already! LOL If he's still available when my other coop is done, I'm VERY interested in him...do you have any photos of his chest?

It's possible, but I don't think it would stop it alltogether. Do you? I am going to worm her just in case anyway, she's not laying so I wouldn't have to throw out any eggs.

Are you going to show at Evergreen Fair in Monroe? Cause I can hold him till then and meet you near the fairgrounds.

He is the one roo in my list of roo's I need to get rid of, that I don't mind holding onto for a bit. I'd actually like to do one more hatch later this summer after we go to Hawaii, but don't know if he'll be mature enough by then to contribute. Ideally, I'd love to hold on to him until he is, and then pass him on. So if you want to put your name on, I can hold him for you for awhile. Just let me know.​
