You have 4 birds going through a gallon a day? WOW! My birds don't drink much, never have, but my DOZEN birds only drink about half a gallon a day!!

Chickens often reject water if the water temp is above 80 degrees.

Hey Dave, I remember thinking "Dude! This is western Washington!". When you suggested that my Legbars would appreciate the trees and shade under the coop to stay cool. But now I am so thankful that they aren't more exposed to the sun. Imagine! 100 degree temps. Here? They spend much of the day under the little coop. BTW. I am just starting to get eggs.

Got to be very uncomfortable over there with 100 deg and the humidity you guys get. Our humidity the last two weeks as been right around 20%

I know this is weird but I love it so much I have to share. Here is my deodorant recipe. I make my own. NO commercial deodorants could keep me from stinking to high heaven anymore, so I switched to this and LOVE it. Sometimes I notice I kinda smell but then, oddly enough, the smell actually dissipates and goes away! Takes 5 minutes to make a several month supply for me and the hubby

Wow! Thanks Jess for sharing that link! Funny, I have been reading some different things about goats milk, how to's, like lotion and soap ect, I ran across this post about not using shampoo anymore! Again, because of all the chemicals in it. They call it no-poo hair cleansing. They use baking soda and water and ACV rinse. Ok, I thought it was kinda cool, cause like what did they do before they made shampoo?? And this is what they did. I can tell you I have been using this stuff for a week now and my hair is starting to adjust, at first your hair may react by getting kind of oily, and you have to play around with how much to use the ACV, it makes your hair soft, but, it can also cause it to get oily too. And it great for pets too.

about the deodorant, I have to use arrid XX dry, does it work that good?

Well today is the day that we have to put our English Mastive down. He is only 2 years old, but has major issues with his knees and has been getting worse over the last few weeks. So we are off to the vet later, our apt is at 4:50 we will head up there early to miss the trafic and walk him around for his last time. He got a huge steak lastnight with his dinner.

On top of that, I have lost almost about 10 chickens to at least three different preditors in the last two weeks.

It's gonna be another scorcher here folks! I have GOT to get the stuff to make the nipple water buckets! I just think that would be so much more effeceint then the stand up 5 and 7 gallon waterers!
