Ok -- Apparently we have a chicken that managed to get: Coccidiosis =(

I called our local Co-Op & they gave us: Sulfadimethoxine Soluble Powder

Has anyone used this for individual Birds. I'm confused on the directions for use. It's based on 1 packet (3.77 oz packet) / 50 gallons -They dont use a 50 gallon watering System, its maybe 1 gallon if that......- Since we cant separate our sickly bird and there was bloody stuff in their water, will it be ok to put the solution in the main water that all the birds have access to? --- Guess as a precaution if they all wind up with symptoms as well?

HELP!!!! I was figuring it was lil bottle that I could just use a eyedropper & administer, not a whole packet to put in water.

Can you do a search on this website and see if someone knows the dosage? I use liquid Corid. Two tsp per gallon. I will see what I can find too.

I looked on the website to see if they had it more broke down for "smaller" sized flock.. but same up with same thing... They sure did break it down for cattle... Says 1 pack per 1 gallon for Cattle... but I know chickens that would be major over dose... I know with one Vitamin Powder we have, its a small scoop per gallon... but I dont know if that would also apply to this medication

Found 1/2 tsp per gallon for 6 days. But this is an antibiotic and you should give probiotics such as yogurt, because it kills good bacteria in the gut too.

Thank You - Thank You KM -- I was sitting here panicking -- I dont want to overdose & for sure kill them =( Do You think since we cant separate her & the rest of the birds would get it too, if they'll be ok if they get too -- I'm wondering if they drank the bloody water anyway, they could of contracted it as well...

It is crazy that I even had a frog house to begin with. It is just a silly garden ornament that I've had in my garden for about 12 years.

Anyone know what needs this frog may have? Or what kind it is? It's not a tiny tree frog - it is pretty big - but not as big as a toad would be.

It's a tree frog. The girls can get up to 2" long. They don't need standing water. I often have several around my yard in the summer, girls and boys. Frogs don't stick around family, although males will carve out a territory and call to defend it during the summer. If you take her to the cliff area and release her she will be fine.

Just a note, it is illegal to keep any WA wildlife as pets. If you have any non-native reptile pets (I know you don't, but I want to mention this) it's a very bad idea to take any natives into your house and then release them back into the wild. You may well be releasing a disease that will wipe out the local fauna. When I was more active in the local herpetological society, we often ran into problems when someone would give us "pet" tree frogs that they had kept for a while. They are illegal to keep and illegal (and unethical) to release.

Quote: It one has it treat them all. It is in all soil around and very common. Most develope immunity to it over time. But some will get over run with the protazoa and show signs.
After this I would try to find liquid Corid somewhere to have on hand. It's two tsp per gallon for 3-5 days. And I don't think it messes with the good bacteria in the gut. Just my opinion. :)
Hope she gets better!

So cute! Someone already answered your question, but I will concur

. That is, in fact, a tree frog and you don't need to do anything with him. Maybe he'll stick around for awhile. I once had a HUGE frog hang out under my porch for weeks. It was pretty cool.
