You're very talented! If you have an online shop, can you post a link?

Thank you! I have an etsy shop, but I have not had time this summer to get my items up. After the Farmers Market ends in October I'll be able to focus on getting the etsy shop updated. Still trying to find the balance of mother, wife, babysitter, and business woman! Oh yea and I jumped into chickens this summer too!

I've been dreading the inevitable but here goes....

I absolutely need to reduce my flock. I've been putting it off for months because I just can't decide which ones to keep, they are all so fabulous!
So, here's the short list:
First up is a Black Copper Marans. I got her from Ilia and she was right, her hens lay the darkest Marans eggs I've ever seen. Very steady layer.
Second is an Easter Egger. She's all blue and lays a beautiful green egg. Also a very dependable layer.
Third, an Araucana silver duckwing (tailed) also from Ilia, also lays a beautiful green egg. Another dependable layer.

If interested, please PM me.
Thanks.

Very nice! IF ya don't mind me asking......how much do ya sell em for??
Ive been selling them for $15- $35 depending on the pieces. The real small little ones, third picture down, I sold for $10.

I dont even wear earrings. I just love the feathers and its fun to do something with them.

Wow, love the crafts!

I adore the chicken beads - do you make them yourself?

Beautiful earrings, too! I'd be curious to know how you clean your feathers? If you do? I have been saving my brabanter feathers as they are speckled and very pretty and thought of doing something with them on Etsy - but not sure how to treat the feathers?
I love those chicken beads too!!!!

I just snip the feathers off as I need them and just kind of "preen" them?? as I snip them off. I dont really CLEAN them.
I suppose you could wash them, but I dont care enough to. They look clean to me!

Great pics! So glad Ethan is doing well! I'm still waiting for crowing from Louie, the other Silkie I still have. Has Ethan started crowing? Anyone know how long before a Silkie rooster will start crowing? They are almost 9 months old now.

Wow. I have 3 silkie boys that are just over 4 months and at least 2 of them are crowing. I've tried with no luck to rehome these 3 since we're suburban outlaws now.

Quote: I just wanted to let everyone know that I bought some fabulous earrings from Holly and they are to die for! Everywhere I go people comment on them and how beautiful they are; then they look shocked and amazed when I tell them they are chicken feathers.

I highly recommend them!

If y'all were to get birds from someone here who is quite reputable and a long timer, would you still quarantine?

ETA: Because I was kinda thinking no...just bring them home at night and stick them on the roost with everyone else, and get up early to curb any fights. WDYT?
