So I will share my lovely new dish mat. I got two of them, so that I can get them dry more often than I did with the last one I had.

I'm thinking you shoulda got more than 2.... Chicken Rustler might be teaching a few habits to those who wish to have some very desirable chicken items.

I didn't take any offense at all to your post. I understand people view different animals differently. It makes me very sad that you have had terrible experiences with dogs.

There is such thing as a bad dog but in most cases it's due to bad or irresponsible owners! I have met a small few, though, at the vet clinic that were very unstable freaks!!! A couple come to mind that had to be tackled with a blanket just to get a muzzle on them as they would even bite their owners if they tried to put it on!!!

Makes ya wonder, huh? I've met people who teach their dogs to be mean on purpose. Scary people.

There are roofing tacks that have the same washer on themAs the fasteners,,they are for putting on tin roofing. They should be cheaper than the fastener you can drill the hole or just drive the tacks like a nail. If you have never used them before drill the holes, if you do not drill the hole and hit it with the hammer it may crack.

From what I understand, you have to cut the plastic roofing with the saw blade on backwards. I'm gonna have to cut the roofing. NOT looking forward to that at all!

If an egg has been refrigerated, will it hatch?

DH came home with a Jersey Giant egg yesterday that was cold. OH.MY.GOSH! It was the biggest darn egg I've ever seen. Now I want Jersey Giants, which is pretty funny because I was terrified of the rooster at the fair.

The eggs are so cool! I asked DH husband if I could incubate it. I think my question worried him. But, I'm so tempted to get that thing out of the fridge and try to incubate it.

DH doesn't know if his co-worker has a rooster or not, so it might not even be fertile.

I have a feeling that DH will notice the giant rabbit that now lives in our living room about the time he starts moving cabinets around. At least the giant rabbit uses a litter box without any problems.

He doesn't know about the rabbit? LOL! That sounds like something I would do... hence, DH's reaction when his medication arrived last night.

There *might* be a little bit of mistrust going on. He hasn't quite gotten over coming home from hunting to finding three chicks in the house.

Well I have changed my mind about what I did have posted here, expecialy because I did not realize that the post I quoted was from so many hours ago. So never mind.

Any way, Oh my gosh these mornings are already to cold for me.
Now that we have cut way back on the amount and how often we are giveing our chickens scrach treats my number of eggs is suddenly going up. It seams that now I am at least getting eggs from half of my flock, so out of around 20 hens that should be laying I am getting around 12 eggs a day!
I would really like to find a few more hens though. I am still trying to get my hands on some Black Copper Marans because I really want some DARK eggs in my basket. But I also think I want a few more White Leghorns and RIRs just to make sure I can provide my customers with the amounts of eggs they need durring the winter months and still have enough for our big family.
Also I am now entertaining the idea of building a run for my chickens. Currently they free range all day every day, which is fine and now that I have my self in the routine of taking my dogs out around the chickens twice a day and having them urinate around the property there have no longer been any preditor problems. But the reason I want a run now is because I am sure that I have hens laying out in the bushes and I just don't have the time to search 7 acres for eggs every day. So I figure if I build them a run they can stay in for half the day and then let them out for the other half, at least I can narrow down my search area. Along with building a run I will also be gutting and rearranging my coop. That should be interesting.

One more thing, I have a rooster that needs a new home as I have a total of three roosters here now. He is Tiny Tim, a Black Serama (sp?) rooster. I will try and find a pic but if not I will take one today and post it for ya'll to see. He is a great lil guy nothing wrong with him at all it is just that I prefer to only have LF here and he keeps trying his best to do his "busness" with my LF girls and it is not working for him. My other two roos are a RIR and an EE. All three boys get along really well but DH has also been hounding me a bit seeing as not only are we not suppose to have roosters at all but I told him I would never have one and like I said I now have three, whoops! Anyone know where I can find a 40-gallon fish tank for dirt cheap? I have two "free" goldfish that are rapidly outgrowing the 10-gallon tank that they are in. When the kids were given the fish, DH wanted me to flush 'em. Instead, I spent a lot of money buying a tank set-up. Now, they are outgrowing it and I need to get a bigger tank. I've been watching Craig's list but, they're pretty spendy.

People who commit crimes KNOW what they are doing is wrong. God created us ALL with a conscience, and regardless of if you believe in God, you were still created by Him with that knowledge of what is right and wrong. People who commit crimes deserve to be punished. We all know how to differentiate right and wrong. And yes, the prison system is disgusting. TV? Are you kidding me? They should sit in their cells with NOTHING but walls to look at so that they have nothing to distract them from thinking about their crime and how it was wrong.
