I have handled the issue, as I have steady customers for eggs, I have asked Kathy (menonite sweet lady licenased caregiver) who lives nearby, to stop by the Pharm & collect my meds.
She will do so tomorrow, and then come get her 6 doz eggs.
And maybe another 6-9 pounds of green beans~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You're an independent and resourceful lady, CL, but we couldn't help but want to take care of you!

After all, you do so much for all of us. Glad you will be okay with the meds.

So far I am having a great week! I got to meet FlyRobinFly yesterday. I bought 5 POL chickens today from ChickieLady. After the 3 hour car ride, they were in their new home for about 2 hours and I got an egg!!
wee.gif
So excited! And I also got a new phone today so I won't have to deal with my old phone taking calls only if it felt like it, and getting voice mail notification hours after the voice mail was initially left. My camera on my phone also stopped working last week. So excited to get some more eggs from my new Girls!

Here is my new girls brown egg next to a store bought white egg taken with my new phone!
After VF & Shyla...............I am only getting about 2 doz a day...............

But.....then ALL of my Marans are in Molt, and ALL of my Javas are in molt~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hopefully things will pick back up soon with the older girls.
That brown egg above looks like a Java (fart) egg.

Then did one just now for Don Shriver, the Buckeye Poultry Club:

I think they will be pleased....but I have no way to ship it at present...so maybe friend Kathy will handle it for me, she is awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK For the record. When I mentioned the price of the epi-pen I was simply stating shock at the price and that I can't pay that. I was not trying to nor do I want anyone to give me one. While I do really appreciate all of your concern and offers to help. I really am not worthy and apologize to all for the trouble.
Sincerely Rob

But I DO hav extras.
You stirred the nest...all the ladies are upset and worried....you told them all you were out getting swarms, you told them you had no epi pen...you made us all worry !!!
Worthy ???????????????? At this point in time ?????????????
I DO have an extra and easy enough to get & I will ask my friend Kathy to mail it to you as I am crippled up & have no transportation.
Should be able to get it mailed in the next 24...need your mailing address, this has to be kept cool...so if you are not gonna be home, then I will not ship.

Text me... I'll come get you. I don't care that its 4 hrs away. You're my friend. I'll come help.

Jenn, sounds like you are having a fun time with the incubating, and it's great you're sharing the experience with the kids.
Dana, you're cracking me up!

(pun not intended)
Yes I am! It's a lot more exciting than incubating reptile eggs. Veiled chameleons take a whole 9 MONTHS to hatch, so this is like turbo incubating. And I am so impatient to have my own chickens.

Oooh, thanks!

They'll probably be afraid, and never eat eggs again for a long time, thinking they are eating a baby chick....has happened to me & friends over & over.

Maybe not at age 2, but between 5-10 years old they figure every egg has a baby in it & if they eat them, well, they are killing a fluffy baby chick....

LOL Yeah, I can see that happening. But he hasn't put 2 and 2 together yet. He's close - after I started incubating the fertile eggs and he was helping me check them like 5 times a day, we went to the grocery store and he pointed at the stacks of bulk eggs and got all excited. (He can't say many words yet, but he understands almost everything we say and gets his point across with gestures and ASL.) He's also pointed at the carton of eggs in our fridge, and he's seen me crack eggs from it into a bowl, but I guess he hasn't seen a live chick come out of one yet. We'll see how he reacts to fresh eggs after next week.

I'm Back. Any of the old crew out there right now?

I am gonna see if I can stay on here now without crying. It has been a tough road, but I have chickens once more in the backyard, and want to connect a bit.

Shout out to Rustler, and Lady, who I know are here.

I want to tell you about my flock to be. They are all on the property, but only 2 are outside so far.

First shipment came to me mostly dead. Had 3, My new puppy managed to kill on that flew much earlier than I expected... So in the coop right now are 1- EE which is likely a roo... darn it. And one Buff laced Polish hopefully a pullet. They are now 15 weeks. They seem a little bit small to be starting to lay. So I expect they will follow a normal schedule. Last flock had some really early layers. First egg from a white EE.

In the house right now are 3 white crested Blue Polish - except one is actually black colored, 2 redish- Gold EE's and 1 New Hampshire Red This group is 7 weeks old, and I am hoping I can ID the gender of my EE outside before I move them out. I think it will be easiest if I remove him (if a male) and add the others into the coop on the same day.

I am really enjoying the spunkiness of the polish chickens. And the bobbing "hair-doos" are so cute. Lots of entertainment potential here I believe. The black one is going to be top hen I think. She already rules the indoor roost. She is also the only one who manages to spend more time running around the bathroom than staying in the box. I like her a lot.

I also have an order in for 14-16 week blue ameraucana pullets to arrive in early November. 2 of them are coming. If everyone lives and if everyone turns out to be female, I will need to rehome 2 of the flock... but I think that is unlikely. I currently have 1 EE who is probably a roo, and another one inside who is looking rooish as well. Slow tail feather development and legs slightly larger than the other one. But it is hard to tell at this point.

Well, that is me. Hope everyone is well and happy. I am doing much better and spend most of my time online. So perhaps BYC will get some of my time now too.
Hi Cindy! Glad you are back and have chickens again!

So happy for you!
