I know what you mean about the bills. So far we owe 632. to the heart doctor for DH, and I am up to 888.00 at the local hospital, and another 230.00 to the clinic here in town. We have fairly normal insurance at least, but the co-pays are becoming a burden. I need to figure out what kind of job that this disabled, slightly dingy old lady can do.

I sure wish I could go back to work......I miss the feeling of being a contributing member of society instead of watching the world go by...I also miss the comraderie, and doing good for the world, and I really miss the big paycheck and decent insurance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one will have this crippled old woman though.....not with this bad leg & celiac disease, I never know when I will be 'down' for weeks at a time, despite how much I want to go to work !!!

My dog eats flies. They infuriate her. She chases them around the house until... gulp.

She knows not to mess with the chickens.

My Black Lab would snap up flies & yellow jackets like a spring trap...SNAP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She swallowed them.............it bothered me she may get stung all the way down, but she just kept it up.
She's have 5-6 yellow jackets after her breakfast & she'd snap all of them up lightening fast !

I miss that dog !!!!!!!!!!

I hate to think of how BAD the hornets are going to be after this dead deer & mellow weather.......................we had bald faced hornets spring up in 2 underground hives last year...they are serious bad news !!!!!!! Make yellow jackets look like the easter bunny.

So ...

I just received 2 huge boxes of birds from the good ol' USPS, (note, said with maximum amount of hostility possible at the moment) and except for one bantam pullet, they are all dead.

The boxes are completely intact, without a single ding, I can't imagine what the hell happened.

I am absolutely sick to my stomach right now. The poor things are still in their boxes, I can't even look at them right now.

Some of these were EXTREMELY rare bantam white Faverolles...sent to me in an attempt to keep them from being lost as a variety, as I can count on 2 fingers the number of people that I know of that are breeding them...luckily I have some bantam black males to breed this little girl to, and I am going to guard her with my life....

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!! That sucks so bad !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crapola, can you get them replaced ?????????????

Guess I will go get to work.
I picked another 2 sammich baggies of nasty seed last afternoon, so now have 3 full trays in the dehydrator slowly drying.

Other than that, nothing much to do.

I drained the water tank down to a few inches last night too...watered the whole yard, and this morning the tank is 3/4 full again...with no pump going...AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!

No, these were the last of the bantm white Favs that Dick had (the original breeder of many of the varieties of Favs we have in the US) and there are only 2 other people that I know of that have them.

What about getting eggs shipped ?
