Elk also makes good chili.
oh yes, and good sausage, good jerky, Yum,yum. Alas I can no longer hunt and if I did get so lucky I have not idea how I would get it out of the woods. Way beyond my physical ability now. But if anybody has too much, I would be willing to take some off their hands and I wouldn't even charge them. lol

Who is this Elk person? Sounds like I need to get a hold of their recipe book!

OK, this is just ridiculous. Neiman Marcus sells $100K coops!!!

The funniest part to me is that the "consultant" chooses your hens for you. Call me crazy, but I thought much of the joy of raising chickens is learning about all the breeds and choosing which one(s) you want that will suit your environment and purposes. I guess some people have so much money they forget that some things are actually fun to do yourself.

I'd just live to see all that fancy furniture covered in chicken poop!

The whole ready made coop, library, etc. is for people with more money than time. No doubt one of the staff takes care of the chickens, too. Chickens have gotten too too chic. I hope that means they'll fall out of fashion soon, and only real chicken people will have chickens.

Well -- first, it would not be solid fir. I'd use good 1/4" plywood. Second - the dimensions on that thing seem a little large? Just about 22" square. Third, I wouldn't make the little roost in front pointy, I'd round it off. Fourth, I'm not sure I'd use the same plywood to make the support cradle it sits in.

I'm pretty sure I have the necessary plywood, lets assume that I do - 25 bucks if you're willing to wait on delivery - more than that if I have to bring it straight to ya. I do get over to that side of the mts often enough that we should be able to work something out.

That's a quick build.

I can wait. It will be months before the chickies are laying. They're only two weeks old.
I think the roost in front is triangular because it fits between the two triangular support blocks.

Huh, I always figured people with THAT much money (i.e. spending $100K on a backyard chicken coop) had more time than they know what to do with since they don't have to work, cook, clean, etc.

Such a deal, such a deal I have for you. Not even my own Brother in law would get such a deal.
I will sell you MY chicken coop for just a measly $25000.00 and I'll throw in the poop for free. Such a deal.
