My Welsh Corgi is great with our flock. He thinks they're his own. Even guards over the hatchlings in the house! We had an old hen escape her enclosure about a week ago, and it was all we could do to get the dog to come in for the night. He was so worried about her not being where she was supposed to be. After spending the night up in the top of one of our walnut trees though, the old girl was more than happy to give up her free-roaming lifestyle, and Austin gave the doggy equivalent of a sigh of relief.

I still have a nice black Sumatra rooster, a gorgeous golden laced Cochin rooster, a pair of nice Light Brahmas, a free bantam Faverolle roo (badly frostbitten toes but recovering), and my trio of black/splash/blue orps. I’ll be in Wenatchee on April 10th and will bring the birds with me…

Thanks!

Definitely like the pin idea! I've done that at another event I go to so that people I chat with from various email lists can spot me.

Too bad I didn't say hi first and get that recommendation

I don't remember talking to you but that doesn't mean we didn't. There were a few people there.

I definitely hope to meet you and other BYCers next time. I always like to put a face to an online personality.

Ok, I had to share this story, On Monday evening I saw an ad on Craigslist saying 'Free White laying hen, 1 yr, Granite Falls', so, I called and she was still available. I told the guy I would drive out and pick her up Tuesday morning. My assumption was that she was probably a leghorn or some kind of cross. Anyway, I showed up to get her and she was already boxed up, I took her home and got her out of the box to put into my isolation pen, and she is a purebred white Ameracuana hen! I couldnt believe it! Her name is Rose (that is what the daughter of the guy I got her from told me), and she is sooo friendly. It was just a nice little surprise, and I figured I would share

I am looking for a show quality Welsummer roo for two gorgeous pullets I was recently gifted on the promise I would put them into a breeding program. My flock is not vaccinated, so any additions must also not have been vaccinated.

The pullets are very sweet and gentle, and laying daily, so I'm hoping to locate a roo rather soon. When they're not breeding I do let my birds socialize with the larger flock, so I'm hoping for a roo that will get along well with others.

If anyone has a bird to fit my needs, or knows of a breeder I might contact, please email or PM me. I am willing to drive up to 500 miles for pick up.

Thanks,
Teresa
