If you are in Sumner/Puyallup area (or don't mind the drive form Graham) I Sumner Animal Grub has 50# bags of DE at for about $25. Easy to find, across from the train station and next to Sunset Chev.

I am looking into getting some meat chickens, but I havent actually been a part of the processing before. Anyone near the Everett <Snohomish Co> area that does this that I could maybe kind of peek in and watch please so I know what I am thinking about getting into?

I'd appreciate it greatly!! thanks so much!

Well, after my last post, I know you wouldn't want to send him my way. But I actually would love to have him as the Roo for my flock, except I have decided to keep my Partridge cockerel, and can only keep one.
I love Orpingtons so much. But my little Rogue has pecked his way into my heart now. Good luck, and if you absolutely can't find a taker, ask me again. I would absolutely keep him safe for you.

By the way, I would love to have a blue orpington pullet about 3 months now, or about 1 month. I would want to slip her in with the like aged girls so she would fit in. Do you know of any?

Good to know, we're going this weekend. Never been, and we missed Evergreen because we were working on the chicken coop. Kids were gone for 3 weeks, and we spent the whole time on the coop, or swearing at the rain that was coming down so hard we couldn't work on the coop.

I wasn't into that either until recently. Not a fun thing, but for some us neccesary. You can check out what I wrote about my first here. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=239596

I
am not near you, but I have faith that if you must, you can do it.

Also, be sure to check out the Meat Birds area on here. There are some topics that will help you stickied to the top of the page.

Oh I posted on them and read the posts, watched the video...but unless I actually "see" it in person as it were... well I just need to make sure that it is something I can do. I have had to cull a bird before but that isnt quite the same.
