Does anyone know where I can get Narragansett poults around here? I have tried all of the feed stores in my area and none can order them for me. I have posted ads on craigslist about once a week since the first week of February. I am starting to consider ordering the hatchery minimum of 15 which is ten more than I need. So clearly this is driving me to insanity. Please help!

I sure could use a good hand around here today.
Been working on the Aviary and need a third arm.
I just don't see it being real to have someone come over at my convenience for a few hours once a month.

Monroe farm Supply is the hot-spot for the Turkeys.
I don't think there in yet.
Maybe you should try and get ahold of them?

Mike

Back to it!

to all the new people.
It's nice to see so many new people joining us.

Sorry LOrraine, That's rough, wish I could do something to help. I don't know about going to cats and dogs though. I grew up in Ketchikan and occasionally cats and dogs became eagle food. It was usually tourists letting their lap dogs out without supervision.

Oh Yea! Welcome back Weave.

I don't know how many time we have to go through this.
When hatching eggs get yourself a couple of different thermometers!!!!

I traded a Little Giant with egg turner for some some chicks.
The thermometer that was in it is reading 60* my incubator is 99.9*
After finding out how people do not use a couple different............ it can cost you your whole hatch!
Please every one that is in the process of hatching or incubating try to find a good calibrated thermometer!!!

A good hint is look for them that have the same * and if you can pin point what that is you will have GREAT results!!!

Mike

Just to try and save more heart ache for someone.

There's a guy in Shelton that sells turkeys, I'm not sure if he has Narragansetts, I will PM you his number. I got my Blue Slates from him, and they're very nice birds. If he doesn't have them, I'm sure he could point you to someone.

They had whites in last weekend, but I think that is all.

went into quail lockdown last night, I wish the blasted things were light enough to candle. Having a hard time with humidity still though..

AnastasiaY, I am a berry farm owner and in my experience teenagers just don't have a good work ethic. Heck, even most 20-something-year-olds cause us migraines. We have our picking crew but we are always looking for SOMEONE willing to work like a dog at the farmers markets and get paid decently but not richly. Most days start before dawn and don't end until dark and people just aren't willing, especially young ones who want a social life. I can't blame them, you are only young once, you should want to have time to have fun, but that just doesn't work on a farm.... my two cents.

I am so bummed out!

' I thot I was going to get my ducklings this week and got all excited BUT nope! I called the feed store to see if they had came in just to find out that they haven't even been ordered! They have started a list of people who want ducks and when there is enough on the list to make a full order THEN they will place the order! Who knows how long that will take!!!!'
