My brother has Scotties, but they require so much clipping, but gorgeous dogs !

Remember, We are on the verge of crippled, and old::like 60, so an active dog like a lab or bdr collie will be too much...

Chickielady- So not old!!!! You are so beautiful in your youth!!! You are a good listener and always willing to help with whatever need!! I can tell just from the few times I have talked to you that you have a beautiful spirit and are a wonderful friend!! I am so sorry for the doggie!! But you still have your hubby and all your amazing chickens too!! that says it all!! And I am sure I can speak for a lot of people (that love you dearly) that you have a good support system standing behind you and you will make it through this!! Stand firm my friend on the fact that she will not suffer anymore and will be in a better place!!

another chick is hatching now so 2.5 out of 11. i think i will have more hatching over the next few days. and if the broody leaves i will move them to my other 3 broody hens.

i noticed it piped and chipped the eggs so its head was visible and stopped after i exposed its eyelid. it looked at me. its foot is sticking out but it is still in the egg for a few more hours still because the membrane still has veins and the chick's skin is still translucent and squishy. but it talks. i added a few drops of water to keep it wet (and the membrane) and stuck it back under the hen. it got some DE and dusting powder on it but that is good cos i am sure the blood would attract the lice. i dusted the chicks and the infested hen with de and dusting powder. the chicks are now white but there are no longer any pests biteing their butts.

I have 3 boy Yorkies that need homes. I could make you a really good deal on one the pups, all you would need is to learn how to cut his hair. On the other hand a Komondor is a much better bet than a Yorkie for guarding chickens. Komondok have a wonderful coat that sheds the dirt by it's self. I love terriers,but I am not sure that they are the best bet for keeping chicken safe. They are bred to control vermin. The herding class of dogs would be better at keeping the chickens safe.

Well this is mostly for some of the more SENIOR members who have been around a while. I have recently adopted most of Weaveagardens flock. I rehomed a few of my birds to make room so that I could keep all of hers together for her. Hopefully this will take a little heat off her with her (not so) wonderful city.

Weavea has not been on for a while due to having trouble logging on and not getting a real warm fuzzy feeling about being on here.
