WOW!

I was the one who asked where you go--- we go to all three places as often as we can.. generally it goes Thanksgiving at Coos, Easter at Win Bay... you ainta kiddin' those is some BIGGGG tall dunes.. especially in the early spring like that, Sand Dunes Frontier over the Mem/Labor Day weekends... I always scare myself at least once or three times! lol! I was the LONE rider of a banshee--everyone else made the switch to 450's over the past couple of years. I am still a pretty die hard two stroke fan but.. my lil ol' banshee died (it was a 91, I have had it since 92) over the Thanksgiving trip. I was tired tired of fixing it, so I bought our friends 450. I like it all right.

My banshee was stolen from camp one trip about 10 years ago I guess.. would you believe they took it for a joy ride out on the sand, and when they were done--turned up the throttle, pointed him at the ocean and SHOT him in the gas tank (too bad they were too dumb to realize plastic doesn't spark.. duh) Rusty was found upside down in the surf by the forest service. We spent the next many years fixing all the things damaged by the salt water, one by one as it broke. we did the frame two years ago and what an undertaking THAT was--hence the sick of fixing broken banshee.. so he is temporarily retired until my son fixes it back up..

funny story.. The little Banshee that Could.. and could and could. Rusty earned his name! haha...

Sorry for everyone's bad chicken karma--there seems to be a lot of it going around!!

I am so sorry for all the misery sooooo many of you are having to deal with right now. I am sorry for the loss and sicknesses that you are having to deal with. It scares me.

I just wanted to drop a UP beat note. I introduced my girls to plain yogurt the other day. THEY LOVE IT. I had read about yogurt on one of these threads, thought it a bit weird...but once the girls realized it was something to eat and it was good...they were all over it. I also dumped to bags of grass clippings in their run for them to pick bugs or whatever else they want, out of it. gives them something to do when I don't let them out of their run because I have not been home to protect and watch.

weird birds haha

Hey, speaking of--does anyone else regularly use apple cider vinegar in their waterers? I have been, but I was just wondering how much other people use, and what kind.. 'cause there's that unfiltered stuff? the chickens seem to like it. anyway.

so i put the little chick back with the momma. i think it is really confused.

se i had to hatch it cos it was shrinkwrapped then the yolk wasn't all absorbed so after being in rehab for 2 days i saw it was getting hungry and knew it couldn't survive on hummy food. so i put it with the silkie. with a black chick i grabbed under it (trying to confuse the hen) and she kept an eye on the new one and tried pecking its scab! i flicked the hen in the face. hopefully the chick will learn to eat after watching all of them eat.

its a little afraid of the momma hen and the other chicks can push it around.

i plan to go an check on it in an hour. i have no idea what i will do if the hen doesn't like it. maybe try introducing it at night. but after that i have no clue. i been learning along the way on this one.

any suggestions?
