It's coming, one of the more wasteful and useless holidays, and the most harmful to animals and the enviroment.
The guy across the river from us blew off bottle rockets from 5 to 10 pm tonight, 1 every 3 seconds.
What a waste.
In daylight too !
Too bad he could not donate just as much to the food bank instead.

So far eggs # 2, 5, 6 and 8 have safely hatched and # 3 is pipping. That leaves # 1, 4, 7 and 9 to go. # 4 had a cracked shell but we glued it and it was moving up until last Thursday. # 9 had a thick shell so we never saw a baby developing.

Hmmmm, they are kinda in trouble a lot aren't they? Well the Kalarhabi is coming out of it and I have been able to steer the girls away from the second level of the coop/playhouse combo, although they started to head up there the other day. Unfortunately, this flying into the neighbor's yard is a really-really bad thing as their dog will eat them. So, they are on permanent lock down for awhile. Have a lot of summer things happening in the next 2 weeks so they will be out very little. Poor girls. Last night, before lock up, I was sitting in lounge chair handing out goodies. I had one girl fly into my lap to get closer at the goodies. It was fun. They have all lost their "peepy chick" voices and now sound like big girls.

Hey Everyone....Glad to see all the new babies out there. I have 4 new blue araucana's they are so cute I cannot wait till they grow up. My Turkins are doing well too, I ended up with to roo's and two hens.
I was wondering if anyone else has Turkins and would be willing to trade a nice roo for a hen. I am hoping to find a balck hen or a white hen or any other color but the red since I already have to red hens. Let me know.

*****MY 2 1/2 month old PBR's voices are changing and all 18 of them sound like antique car horns...honk honk !
Maybe just cipping their wings to prevent them flying over the fence and then they will be able to still free range while you are on patrol to watch them.

The babies are venturing out from under Mama....

They are so gorgeous!!!!
12 hatched out of 13 from Zgoatlady, and they are really big babies !!!
9 out of 12 hatched from Madelynbelle and those were shipped, a fantastic hatch !!!
Blue Ameraucana babies !!!

The green stuff is Gro-gel, and so far none of my hatches of chicks like it.
I thought because they are under red light that maybe it looks brown/black and unappetizing, but apparently they just do not care for it so I will buy it no more.
Anyone elses' babies eat gro-gel ?
