I first used Wazine. It is supposed to kill the adult worms, and then 2 weeks later I wormed them again with Ivermectin. The ivermectin kills off any eggs and larva that the wazine didn't kill. I was told that if the girls had worms really bad that using the just the Ivermectin could overwhelm their bodies, and possibly make the bird so ill that it could die. The down side to worming the girls, is that we couldn't eat their eggs for a month. I scrambled the eggs and fed them to the dogs and chickens so they didn't go to waste. It didn't seem to any adverse reactions to eating the eggs. I figured it could hurt dogs to get wormed at the same time. I have read somewhere that you can use Ivermectin to worm the dogs also. I hope so because the puppies thieved the extra tube of Ivermectin and chewed on it, and about half of the tube is missing. The puppies are still trying to steal anything they think belongs to me.

It's like having toddlers around.

Ron, I use Ivomec-(Ivermectin) Since I use Verm-X pellets to keep the worms down(I tend to forget to use them regularly), I don't usually use wazine first. But I heard if you see the worms, then you should. It can kill the chickens if you kill everything at once. I have the Ivomec here. Don't buy it. I have more than enough to do your flock and mine at least 20 times! It's a big bottle and you only use like 5 drops per bird. I use the pour on, because I don't know how to inject. Let me know and I will come over and we can worm your flock. As for the DE, I will let you know when I am going to Issaquah. Hopefully in the near future.

There's been coup in the coop. I noticed yesterday that Her Majesty the Queen has been knocked down a couple of notches. I guess I'll have to start calling her Maisie instead.

We're off to Cannon Beach for a week. My son will come twice a day to take care of the various pets. I've decided to let them free range during the day rather than keep them cooped up in the run for a week. I hope they'll be all right. They're safe in the yard from anything but aerial attack. I probably worry too much.

I thought about this idea for awhile. I am okay with a wheelchair, but I am going to need someone to push the chair around.

I am out of peeps during the week.

No minions about ?
Go to a mall (somewhere paved) and practice hauling yourself as long as you have healthy arms,.
When you tire, go home.
It can take a while to build up arms, but it is good for you !
And good to get out !
The bad part is most fairs have gravel, and it is almost impossible to haul yourself in a wheelchair, and almost impossible even with a helper pushing.
I often wanted big ballony off road tires on our wheel chair while trying to push DH through the gravel.
Maybe we can borrow Rustler's sand rail tires ???

ARGGGHHHH SO maddening! Came home from a lovely vacation to the Dunes and what do I find? A chicken with a broken foot and two that have somehow flown the coop!!! I don't even see how the latter is possible! My coop and run are completely secure... and I found no holes! on the other hand my "door" system had a little give to it! makes me wonder if something got IN rather than OUT...

So how is everyone? I hope you all have a great Fourth!

Wow, the forum has hardly moved a page in the last 2 days, oh yeah, remember half of us are gone for the weekend having fun somewhere.
I am very surprised Jess is not accessing the forum from her phone while in Moses Lake !!!

Yesterday I sold all but 2 PBR's to some great people who are in BonneyLake...and they visit here on BYC often too, small world.
So today I have cleaned out both coops and when I went in to do the Marans hutch this morning I spied a splash cockerel eyes closed and not moving from the poop tray under the roost pole...WTH ?
So went to him and his left leg was caught between the poop board and the wall in a 1/2" crack, and swollen and the shin rubbed and raw but other than that seemed OK.
After first aide he is limping about...poor little guy.
DH has repaired the crack !
How he got in there is anyone's guess !

Why home so early ???
The weather is cruddy, or we would be sturgeon fishing...supposed to get worse and it is already rainy here on the coast, not a good time to put in and go out in the bay.
Boring !!!!
