Im finding it extremely hard to NOT bid on Pips&peeps auction for 15 Ameraucanas... Its so hard to wait, when I really want to start this project now. But I really don't want to start out with 15 AM's lol

I'm just impatient, and want to do things now!

well I have 2 out of 4 so far sprouting gold hackle just exactly like this bird pictured, and you may have them, come and get them!

I would have NO idea what to do with those boys, as far as who to pen them with... That isn't a standard color is it? I do think the color combination is cool though. But I think it would look better without the gold on the wing.

But then I think about getting them, raising them up, and then choosing the ones I want to breed. The rest I'm sure I could easily find homes for. Its just the coop, winter coming, holidays, ect...

But I agree, her birds are purty
and the blue roos with the gold hackle are a big no no and they will no doubt become rooster pot pie.
So I search for 2 Blue Wheaten roos, or even 1 to replace the 2 icky ones.
What an icky day, drizzly and icky.
I got all my chores done early and have sat here on the computer yakking all day...glad to have you all to talk to...DH is getting his well drilling tool together, and we will then get to go play in the mud, lots of mud.
I thought these blue Ams I have (that are sprouting gold hackle) were Pips and Peeps birds but they are Cree birds

..oh well.
The have full beards and muffs at least, but the roos are showing they are too dark and have the nasty tell-tale gold hackle...

You do have to brood them for a while before they're ready to go out in the coop, don't you?

Poseidon is missing some saddle feathers and a sickle feather though.

Perhaps a molt will help that sometime in the future.

Yeah I am anxious, good way to explain it. lol I hate waiting on something that I really want. lol I'm a big spoilt kid!

SEE!!! If I got those 15 chicks, you could choose two BW roos! lol Remeber my husband doesnt like the BW. lol

The weather here has been quite nice for the past few hours. Overcast with random sun, temp is about 68 degrees.

Yeah Ive been farely bored today myself. Spent quite a while playing with Chloe, already did all of my chores except for laundry. And that is in the works as I type. Chloe is down, chickens are out and about, coop is clean, food waters filled for all critters... So I sit here filling my time torturing myself!

They are from Cree? Hmm... Well I toyed with the thought of going with Cree, but I don't think they have Wheatons, so they are out. It's really to bad too, cause they are only 30 minutes away from me. So Illia, and pips&peeps, are the next closest that I know of. Plus I've havn't heard anything negative about iether persons stock.

I've got a couple locals wanting Wheaten / Blue Wheatens, so I'll be hatching some eggs soon. You can get some chicks from me, and I think Chickielady wanted a cockerel or two.
