OH SAND!!! Thats another thing I need to pick up. Luckily Mr. Arness a local cunstruction company owner, dumps his excess sand just down the road from my place. You might have seen it when you drove out here... He dumps it on the edge of his property, just off the road for locals to pick up if needed... He's such a good old guy! He gave my sister a MAJOR discount when her old horse passed. He charged her just the gas for the tractor to come out and dig a 18' deep hole to bury Dutchess in... So instead of the normal $450.00 my sister only paid $100.00... I must remember to give him some eggs and a card when the girls start laying.
I love the REAL locals in my area. We all take care of eachother. Wether its firewood, lumber, sand, or an extra set of eyes... Its kind of uncommon now days, I wouldn't know my neighbors if I hadn't spoken to them all about the horses and chickens... lol But we are all a huge extended family, and we all watch out for eachother.
That is the way it should be, and will always be as long as we are rural...as soon as we have excess people, crime, and gangs start, don't get me started there,,,as far as I am concerned, and millions of other people, HUMANS are over breeding like rats and spoiling the entire earth,,,where they cannot feed themselves, still they breed...man, humans are what is going to ruin this earth, the soil, the water, the wildlife and all the animals.
Local people in smaill "villages" are so wonderful, though, all helping each other, buying and selling with each other, barter and trade.
Big business and mega congloms are scarey, and thousands of acres of user friendly low incomes in millions of acres of apartments paying no individual property tax but yet sucking the welfare system dry...
OK so I quit right there and get on to a happier subject...I cleaned under the bed today, a built in deal like a murphy bed, and there is boxes of stuff under there, and lots are booze boxes, and one was still taped shut
WOW I still have a case of whiskey under the bed I had NO IDEA was there !!! I even had DH buy me a bottle of R&R when Cuckooroo died, remember ?
WOW..we brought this up from Ca...$12 a bottle, half gallons
Now, we have to make another trip soon to visit DH's Mom and Dad...but this will last a long time !!!
Sorry for the rant all, it is the MEN-O-pause ya know !!!!!!!!!!!!
