i guess i am lucky. i can still go through almost a gallon of cow milk 2% every 2 days. i would die if i didn't have my milk. is it sad that i can taste the difference between the % and different brands? dairygold milk tends to taste buttery even more so as the milk gets warm. and organic milk just tastes wrong. for some reason the smell of goat milk makes me a but queasy. my parents say i should of been adopted by a dairy farm. not an orchard.....

good news. went to an ENT today, he cleaned off one tonsil (removed a stone from the right tonsil, which is severely infected) and i feel better. but the good news is that in december i get to have them taken out. i get to also have new allergy testing done (since what i had done when i was 6, is now outlawed because its inefficient and the results are not conclusive) and apparently testing for food allergies through blood samples is also not as good, so i get both tests done through an injection style test. into the top layer of the skin. (i think this is still going to hurt....)

but yeah i hear its raining at home and that it is snowing a few hundred feet above my house. my chickens are going to have fun getting worms and playing in the mud. at the end of the day, they will look half drowned. lol. big fluffy rooster looks pathetic.

In India a lot of people drink milk their whole life. I havent heard of anyone complaining about lactose intolerance on her side of the family. I can see how one would have to ramp up for production to drink milk. I drink milk rarely by itself but it doesnt seem to bother me when I do. Cheese, yogurt, or buttermilk dont seem to bother me either. Guess Im lucky.

In a program to organically try to deworm your chickens chopped pumpkin seeds are fed then yogurt. The thinking is that the pumpkin seeds immobilize the worms/parasites and the yogurt flushes them out quickly from the digestive tract. I dont feed my chooks yogurt intentionally but if there is yogurt leftover it goes in the 'chicken bucket' to be fed to the chickens.

I dont like to eat chickens with added hormones or heavy metals or preservatives so I dont get the flu shots either. Everyone knows that all that stuff is conspiracy theory anyway but I try to reduce my mercury intake however I can, that way I can enjoy the swordfish steaks more often and still stay within my daily recommended levels of toxic heavy metals. What do I know though, Im not a doctor, Ive never been educated and coddled by the pharmacy companies lol. Likely I am suffereing from some sort of mental disorder or deficit. Most likely just a deficit. That could be a symptom though could'nt it. And indecisiveness and poor grammar. I fear its getting worse. I need to stock up on aluminum foil after I research what the acceptable blood level for aluminum is.

I haven't been on here for quite some time so please forgive me if this has already been posted. Also, I don't have a lot of time right now so am just gonna mention this quickly and then leave the rest of it up to you all to find out more.

It was just brought to my attention last week that there is a bill called S.510 that will make it illegal if passed to sell, trade, or share things like chickesn, ducks, eggs, and even produce from your garden unless you have been inspected and previously authorized and approved to do so. The S.510 email I received appeared to be legit and I called Patty Murray’s office. I haven’t had time to read the bill yet but Senator Murray’s office says she plans to vote “Yes” and is also trying to get the "Textor Amendment" (not sure on the spelling of that) added which would exempt farms that make less than $500K from the reporting requirements. The entire Bill evidently can be read at www.congress.org and then doing a search for S510. I will try to read it tonight.

The fact that Murray plans to vote “Yes” should be no surprise. Everything and anything that has come down the pike to have more Government intervention in our lives is something Murray has always voted for. I know it’s not politically correct to talk politics but this is something that if passed would affect likely everyone on this thread. As I mentioned, I was told my Senator Murray's office that she "would like to see the Textor Ammendment added" but is was also clear that she would vote in favor of passing the Bill even if it is not.

This is just one more example of Government intrusio in our lives and if things keep going the way they are, it won’t be long before we all have to stand in line to get our food from the Government! And of course the taxes will go up to pay for all the extra inspections, reporting requirements, and more bureaucrats in the government to track and do all of it.

So go check out the Bill for yourselves and then make the call to Senator Murray's office and let them know if you support this or not. And PLEASE, everyone get out and vote this coming November 2nd.

Shoot, I am a LOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG way from the 500K reporting requirement. We're also organic so we already have our farm practices and produce inspected and certified.

Yeah, given how long the food bank lines are in my county (my husband donates our surplus farm goods) lots of people already have to stand in long lines for food. Lots of kids in those lines in the summer. It's sad.

So far its been dry today, we've even had some sun breaks... But man O' man are we ever getting pounded by wind! Had one large limb from one of my hawthorns come down and land on the hood of my friends truck... No major damage, but sure scratched it up... We've had buckets raining on us since a couple days ago. . . Still rainin' buckets. There's wind too, but not bad wind.

Oh and my greenhouse? Entirely broken. Yep. The weight of the sagging plastic has now bent all the PVC hoops down, and the whole thing looks like a toppled 10 legged giraffe.

Bring some antihistamine to take AFTER the test. My son was so sensitive, he started having a system wide reaction to the test.
