As a teen I raised and showed French Lop. The only reason my parents would allow me this is that I could buture whatever didn't make show or sell. I am familiar with all, other than Cinnamons and I have heard of the C D'Argents (I just don't remember what they look like). I love bunnies.

I love French Lops

Wish I could have a pair! My mom won't let me, already at my max!

Cinnamons are a rare breed and you rarely see them on the show tables! I love my D'Argents, they are so beautiful!

If I could have pet bunnies, or show, I would have dwarf hottots...I love the eyeliner, makes their eyes look so BIG...and they are so small and cute.
My buns are monsters, and a bit wildish, not got pets...but fantastic meat.
Good for people with allergies and intestinal disease sensitive to store bought meat.

The best way to have a full picky gland expressed is to get an exam glove, slather up 2nd finger (index) with KY-Jelly, insert into anus (depth depends on how large dog or cat is), hold first finger (thumb) on lateral side of picky gland, place gauze over area (I usually hold the bottom edge of the gauze with the fingers remaining), pinch on your finger pads with light force and roll down to your palm. Debris will *hopefully* be held by the gauze. Turn to other gland and repeat.

I usually use my other arm as a brace around their abdomen. Keep your face away from the action. And the key tool- KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED. Ewwwww....

OK I am all alone on the forum here, where is everybody ?
So...first I googled 'how to squeeze picky glands' on my computer and it would not let me see anything or open any websites, parental controls...so I opened the internet page and turned off the parental controls and BAM!!!!!!! Oh boy howdy did I get an eyeful of nastiness !!!!! 1 out of ten websites were about dogs, the rest was ooowie nasty porno stuff...
3.gif

so had to selective look...and watched a video of a vet preforming the ordeal...then I got a warm soapy bucket of water and an old washcloth, gloves, etc and went to do the deed, while DH tried to hold the 100 pound wriggling pup dog!!!!!!
Anyway, to make a long story short, I could not get anything out, I am confident that if there was something there I would have got it...so he must have a wee bit of constipation going on...and that could be a real problem as he had a fondness for chewing on rocks for a while...if you went to pet him he had to have something...if a toy was close he would grab it, but if not, he would pick up a rock and we have railroad rock on all our roads here...so my vet already told to watch out he does not get plugged up...so off to the vet he will go unless I see a poop here shortly...who else has pyranees?
Do they all like to eat rocks/weird stuff ?
I saw a web photo one time of an X-ray taken of a Rott that had eaten an entire 10 foot string of Christmas lights, bulbs and all...the bulb kind like on night lights OUCH!!!
He had some spendy surgery.

OK, back to the chickens, I just spoke to Scott who owns/runs Patriot Farms and Bison about his feed, and tomorrow we are drivng out to get some...several bags of layer, and a bag of grower and several bags of chick starter...and with his grains, milled on his farm, and his chick starter is unmedicated...and his square straw bales are cheap too..
16% layer..Oats,barley, corn and seeds, oyster shell, soy protein , 12-12 mineral and vitamins and salt.
$11.50 for 50#
16% Grower, same but no oyster shell, 50# is $9.85
Starter is 20% protein. Non medicated. $11.50

I am going to give it a look see and stock up...have any of you tried to find start n grow right now ?
Very hard to find.
Patriot Farms is out by Chehalis...oh and square straw is $3 a bale (Del's thick nasty wheat straw like stiff twigs is $12 a bale)
And we will stop by and rattle rustler's coop as well...........

My Cremes are monsters as well... at least the does. Never wear short sleeved shirts or your arms will be ripped to shreds!

I got my new coop duplex DH built off of the goat barn painted today! Hoping to move the Orp and Ameraucana babies in this weekend! Still need to paint the floor and put the divider down the middle and build the run.

I have scars....
I had Flemish Giants, they take too long to grow, and dominoes, a cross that is a Californian with another breed so you get a large rabbit, fast growing, white with brown eyes and black dots.
Are you an ARBA member ?
I was for years until a few months ago, could not see the point...
