Ugg... Sometimes I wish I didn't live on the penninsula... I'm so far from everything, it sucks. lol I need to find a local grain mill that isn't charging an arm and a leg per pound. I would love to get off a fully pelleted feed... And my local Cenex... Well I just don't think they have the best quality, and my girls will eat the Layena before the feed from Cenex. I give my girls a mix of the two with about 1/4's worth of oats. They also really seem to love turkey and fish.

It just came up on CL...free 25 lb. bag medicated chick starter (olympia)

we only ended up hatching a few chicks--way too much food leftover! i don't think it should be fed to hens laying eggs.

I came across this local organic soy-free feed site the other day. It's a bit spendy at $25.99 per 50 lbs. But to some folks it's worth it I guess. Still too spendy for me. I'd like to find a local soy-free feed, but one that is still reasonable. If anyone knows of such a thing in the Snohomish/Monroe/Duvall/Woodinville area, please let me know.

Yes I have chickens! We have nine now! Maybe be getting a few more but not 100% sure!

And yes I'm an ARBA member! If you show your rabbits and aren't an ARBA member then you can't get a GC certificate and/or register your rabbit. There's other things you can do with the membership

I like getting the magazine as well

yes, I did all that, but enough is enough, and now I am going to try to show a few chickens...but you have different rabbits than I do.
I can still show mine at Fair..that is enough showing for me, like best buck, best doe and meat pen or pen of 3, and out here we have doe/bunnies but have to be 3 week old bunnies to show.
I am too old for all this non-sense

If I could have pet bunnies, or show, I would have dwarf hottots...I love the eyeliner, makes their eyes look so BIG...and they are so small and cute.
My buns are monsters, and a bit wildish, not got pets...but fantastic meat.
Good for people with allergies and intestinal disease sensitive to store bought meat.

Dwarf Hotots are pretty cute

My Cremes are monsters as well... at least the does. Never wear short sleeved shirts or your arms will be ripped to shreds!

I have always loved dwarf hotots...they are so cute. Oh, and I have lots of scars from "war wounds" from my bunnies. I have a good one across my chest. My hands and arms are all scarred up from past bunny experience.

Even with all the scars and stuff you have to love them

I love my buns, and butchering is never pleasant, I hold, DH shoots the pellet gun, it is over quickly, no suffering, no running around with the head cut off business.
I befriend and love my breeding stock, and love and care for the young, but do not befriend them.
Heartland post some photos of your bunnies !
