Welcome to my world. LOL!
We have to expect over the years things will change but some times it blows us away to see the change we had no idea would be so drastic.
We moved out here about 8 miles east of Duvall in what was once nothing but horses, cows, chickens, you get the picture.
Then came Microsoft and some other tech and related companies millionaire boom that went on for some time.
Before you knew it huge homes built.
Those city people brought their lights with them I guess they afraid of the dark at night.
Us country people like to walk outside at night and see the stars.
I never have found anything in the dark that my dog won't find first before trouble comes at night nor in the day light.
Country people have their ways.
Then with the fancy houses came the paved drive ways. Use to be all gravel drive ways.
I could go on but you know where I'm going.
And now property taxes so high I have done many remodel jobs just sick to my stomach as the home owners get to know me they break down some crying as they tell me they've been in their home for 40 years but they can't afford to stay due to property taxes.
You have no idea how bad that hurts to see a seniors face full of pain knowing they are leaving everything they know for a place they never thought in a million years they'd have to go.
The AMERICAN dream right?
Pay off your house and live happy ever after.
What a crock of crap that has become for so many.
It doesn't have to be this way if they were good stewards of the money they got in the first place.
Here is a perfect example. I posted this on my message board................
How many times have you heard politicians say but we have no where else to cut expenses? What a crock of CRAP that is.
I could cut millions in the first day of going through the books and save BILLIONS going forward from ridiculous projects going forward.
Below is a perfect example.
First of all they decided to Gamble 2.3 million on an unknown out come.
Second, I don't care that you who bought a house next to a bridge over I-5 and you think it's noisy.
You were already compensated for that noise when you bought the house. WAKE UP!
Same with people who bought next to an airport.
$2.3M project isn't cutting noise much on I-5 bridge

The initial testing of noise control panels installed on the Interstate 5 Ship Canal Bridge in Seattle shows they are not reducing traffic sounds as much as expected.
Recent tests found a reduction of only a decibel or two. Officials had expected a reduction of four or five decibels, The Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce reports.
The Transportation Department had a contractor install 700 baffles under the highways upper deck at a cost of $2.3 million.
Some neighbors report a big reduction in noise, but others haven't noticed any.
Another example of no stewardship of our tax $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Another post...............
To add to that disaster they are spending 200 BILLION on a transit system that will never EVER pay for it's self. Take a good guess what I'd do with that?
OK, lets assume I had no control over stopping that where could I save the working man his hard earned $$$$$$$$$$$$$!!! then?
Wouldn't be hard when I'd say you can take your 1% for art and stick it where the sun don't shine.
That is $200 MILLION on art projects to go up around the transit run.
In these same neighborhoods these people need health insurance.
They need to not be taxed out of their homes so they can afford to live there.
The people who they'd like to get a job with need to be let alone by the government not red taped to death, taxed to death, regulated to death so they can afford to hire you.
This isn't rocket science. Doesn't take 5 degrees to understand basic business principles along with basic means to survive.
But hey art work is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo important!
People's lives come SECOND!
I cannot believe the transformation of Duvall, Snohomish, Carnation ! Where there were so many dairies now there is one....in Duvall...we grew up there, and there is no farms anymore.
It just gets bigger, more people, the prices go up due to demand...it is awful.
It is almost like after all the work you have done, now you have to move away because the taxes and population will squeeze you away.
Sad.
