You are way too funny. Poor fly. Not really - I don't feel sorry for the fly, they are so incrediblly annoying that I will not feel sorry for it. Take it home to your ducks....I bet they will "hug it and love it and keep it warm and take care of it and hug it some more"....

Name the fly George! and keep it forever and ever and ever and feed it and love it!!!!

(loony toon cartoon reference from ~20 years ago)

And pet him and play with him...and it was a cartoon from a famous movie about the depression (from a Steinbeck Novel "Of mice and Men")....but you could get a little cage like a cricket cage (maybe it is good luck !!) and keep the little beastie on your desk...feed him sweets....

And Terrie can you come to our show ? It is spring here (at the moment)

Takes a younger mind.

Oh PA LEEEEEZEEEE is there anyone here with a younger mind that remembers the stuff that happened in the depression

Funny how all this moves...
What it takes in this case is an older mind...

A wonderful Novel !

I have a herd of most excellent Olive Eggers at the very point of lay, and anyone interested, PM me now as we can do biz at the show....

So my day at work yesterday was not as bad as today....yesterday, the county laid-off FOUR people in our department and they still have more to trim from the the budget. I was told today that I'm the "next in line" to be cut.

I am sick over this...I've been there for 3.5 years and it just goes by seniority, basically...

So I'm looking for another job but with this economy and with our very small town, the options are limited...especially for a 36+ hour per week job that I would be making close to $15 per hour for like I am now...

BYC. Honestly, I learned all my stuff through personal experience, BYC, or general science/biology studies I did on my own time.

As for the roosters scenario, I am not 100% positive on chickens, but I know most other birds, yes, if you mix a bunch of roosters with one hen, the semen will compete for each egg, so you will indeed get a mix in there. I don't know, though, about scenarios like "diluting" one rooster's genetics, etc. I've wondered myself, but so far I find that there's just some who have more "lively" and "winning" sperm than others.

By dilution I mean a hen exposed to one or more males, then exposed to only one male for a longer period. I'm not sure if the fact that his donations are fresher, that they'll dominate the egg population.

Pardon the weird word usage.

This is my problem as well...and who wants to hire a 56 year old woman that knows so much ?
No one.
They will hire a cutey though....
Despite my dental and surgical knowledge, no offices want to hire me...I am not so cute anymore...But I do have a sense of humor, and an artistic talent and I intend to work that to the max: my favorite is sandwich signs...with very pleasing paintings on them...

I think what she has going on is a chicken orgy that the world has never before seen.................
Seriously, is anything seperately penned ?
Nope.
This is 80+ chickens having it their way~~~~~ There is no way to tell who did who, nor on which day the deed was done !
