This is my problem as well...and who wants to hire a 56 year old woman that knows so much ?
No one.
They will hire a cutey though....
Despite my dental and surgical knowledge, no offices want to hire me...I am not so cute anymore...But I do have a sense of humor, and an artistic talent and I intend to work that to the max: my favorite is sandwich signs...with very pleasing paintings on them...

Ooooh.....I need an egg for sale sign for the road by my little "egg" house. My preference was a sandwich sign....I was looking for someone artistic to make one for me. Any interest? If so pm me.

Well...I am a very hard worker, I am reliable, honest, trustworthy, I have a bachelor's degree, lots of experience and I'm 30 years old.

Anyone hiring? LOL

I went through the same thing, certified in everything, years of college in surgery, oral surgery, dentistry...and home health and geriatric assistance and medical assisting !!
But the truth is there is 25 cute little cuteys out there waiting to get your job that are willing to take half the wage you get...and in my case, the doc was way more interested in looking at her behind rather than mine.
I also have a 60 year old dear friend that was dislocated by this BS going on and his Co closed...Imagine trying to get a job NOW when you are 65 !!!!!!!!!!!!! He was in line with 50+ young men for 1 job at a Indian Casino tending bar...It is insane for us old people to have to deal with yet another recession..on the same level as our chicldren...

I have better luck with local pickup.

Off subject, but I wanted to say that I will miss you at our show coming up this week end, but it sounds like you are distracted by babies...but soon you will be here with us !
Have you made up your minds where you want to live ?
And do not forget Oregon either, OR is beautiful....as is Idaho !!
Most people move where they work, and that is that .
And this person looking for hatching eggs...driving all the way to Sandpoint ?
Are you out Cusick way or North up towards Elmira ?

It looks like we are narrowing it down to the Colville area, maybe the Colville National Forest, but we are still looking in several counties (Spokane, Pend Oreille, Stevens, Ferry, and Okanogan). I have looked in Oregon but did not like what I found.

We have 27 more days until she is here and tomorrow we have a sonogram, yea.

Serisouly though I would LOVE to visit and go see ReiMiraa's flock, and then see some babies. That would be a fun challange to figure out the parentage.

You all know I have been a silkcreen printer for 30 years, I have to look up and see if I have Photos of some of the signs I have made recently before we moved here !
I LOVE sandwich boards and Whimsical signs....we have been doing them for years out of state....

I was told today that I'm the "next in line" to be cut. I am sick over this...I've been there for 3.5 years and it just goes by seniority, basically...

So I'm looking for another job but with this economy and with our very small town, the options are limited...

So sorry Heather. That stinks.

I can relate with you and hope you do find a job you like that will make you happy soon.

About 2 months ago I was laid-off because of the budget. I was the counties web administrator for 6 years. Oskaloosa has about 1100 people living here but it is the county seat still a very small town. I use to walk to work in 5 minutes now I work n Topeka a 40 minute drive. Shhh I have not told them I am leaving in six months.

By Nature Farms:
Some of my happiest days in my entire life have been in Pend Orielle County...which is about Hiway 41...which runs north and so...
and if you go along the mighty Pend Orielle River right now, you will hear it BOOM with ice cracking on top of the river, and I will also tell you, that this is one of the most beautiful places in the Northern states...Cusick, Ione and West to Kettle Falls...I love Idaho, especially now, with 12 to + feet of snow, oh man, I miss the area, wholed in with the wood stove torqueting some serious heat...the mighty Pend Orielle will snap, Pop and crash like an explosion..so much so that you will be awakened from sleep from the BOOM...
I miss my friends over there...I miss the super crisp -20 degree days, where you car is frozen to the ground....no amount of revs will unglue it !
I miss the crystal clear nights....and every so often if the conditions are just so right, BIG lacey snowflakes come down, so much so that they look like paper cutouts in my hand...beautiful !
I miss the comraderie that happens in Pend Orielle Co and Newport......people take care of each other.
OK, I am going to stop remming here
