It was fun hanging with them and watching them during wrestling though. Had a really fun day....but I wanted you (CL) to know that you were at the top of my list to get home and write on our thread to keep it at the top.

atleast we do not have a snowpack established. otherwise "It could be worse"

you want to know how?

remember that one november where it rained 21 someodd day Straight? yes that even happen on the east side of cascades. it made many of us in leavenworth highschool depressed (well, those of us that don't like rain but snow, some ppl were happy....)

but remember that one feburary (or was it march?) i think 2 years ago, not last spring but the one before it

when there was snow but then it got warm and dumped tons of rain (in my area)
it actually shut down Blewett Pass for a week because the mudslides redirected a creek and that redirected onto the highway and ruined it, or when it also ruined Snoqualmie pass (making the bad roads even worse)

so like i said, could be worse. but then i live in the mountains (normally) and we only have mudslides or flashfloods. but we live above the river level, though there are many places in my area that flood. i remember the 100 year flood we had and the 50 year flood we had. the 100 one i will never forget. football field turned into a giant pool.... and there is still a log stuck in the Peshastin bridge as a reminder of how high the waters once got. i remember that sent TONS of logs down the river. Yes this was after the 94 fire, i remember now. that is why there was so many logs. there are still remanats of that in the tumwater, you can see them driving along HWY 2 before entering Leavenworth. most of those were placed there that year.

sometimes i wish i could be a meterologist. but i met a few and the pay isnt good unless you were Al Roker on national tv or a very lucky extreme storm chaser (still inspired by my favorite movie Twister)

ok, distraction from the dreaded biology studying over, for now.

BTW Illa i am envious of who gets your rooster. -sigh- some day, some day i will have more breeds. then i can have interesting cross breeds and also try purbreeding to preserve that line, but i think more genetic diversity would be best. that is the downfall of all purebreeds of all creatures, even humans- even though there are more 'mutts' there are more and more genetic issues arising.

on a random note king 5 has an article about what the latest powders teens are snorting. crazy
i remember dumb classmates using pixi sticks, sugar, salt, or some were actually caught in the girls bathroom with cocaine or other stuff.
though there was this really dumb boy. for $20 he snorted sawdust. i think he was the one who also tried to eat sticks of butter and on another instance a gallon of milk. those 2 instances i did not witness because i knew the outcome and didn't need my mind scarred.

In vegetable class i learned that most of the wild crucifers and brassicas the white sap is called latex. and some plants have a type of it that is hallucinagencic. how you get that affect the text book didn't say. but i cant imagine eating tons of dandelion cousins to get the affect, or drinking that sap. so who knows.

Never would of thought nutmeg would be a contender though. I know some desprate people who steal real vanilla in stores because the real stuff has alcohol in it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutmeg#Psychoactivity_and_toxicity

crazy, as horrible as it is to say, i think if kids have to be drug users out of all the choices out there pot would be 'safest' comparatively, mostly from what i have seen happen to classmates in highschool.

i never did any of that stuff for many reasons: knew it was bad for the brain and body, illegal, bad respiratory system already. and who needs to see what it is like when you can watch others on it instead?
I love Leavenworth, but the one drawback about it is that it is a gateway for many things.

Woooo what a storm! We don't usually have to worry about things like this here where it is hilly and we are not in a valley, but I was hanging with a friend and we heard a creepy tune in the basement and when we investigated, we found the sump pump spurting out water, and for the next 6, we were scooping up, sopping up, carting the captured water to the street, trying to move things out of the way and the furnace from getting wet, and frantically calling all 24 hour place we could. After hours of this, we finally got ahold of someone and we found that the pump was having pressure malfunctions, so we equalized it and it worked again. Whew! I kept thinking of all the people out where this sort of thing would be small beans, where the concern is their animals and even livelihood and homes! I sure hope everyone else did well!!!!

Hope you are all staying dry! We live on a hill, and our neighbor up above has water coming down his drive like a river, then it goes into our drive. Woke up with the Garage half full of water. Neighbor is gone for the weekend. DH has been out there most of the day diverting the water best he can. We need to put a drain in at the top of the drive and maybe a "bump" similar to a speed bump across the top of the drive to steer all that water into the drains. It's only ever really this bad with such a big storm. Regular rain doesn't seem to be a problem.

ANYWAY, kids keep anxiously checking the school reports. They are convinced that the middle school at least will be closed tomorrow down in Carnation. We will see!

I'm Tamarareid @ hotmail dot com on Facebook! Stay dry everyone!

We women LOVE good smells, it has to be a bazillion dollar industry with all the scented sprays and candles...potporrie and incense...then here comes a man (or 3 teen boys) and off comes the shoes and it will drop you like a cannon ball at 50 yards...
