FYI this here Chickielady broke and traind and bred horses WAYyyyyyyyy back.
It all started at Bay Meadows Race Track...and The private horse stable where I kept my horses in Saratoga California, and then moved...I had Standard breds, (my Dad's) and I had Appaloosas (my babie s!) some red roan, roach maned, frizzle short tailed peacock spotted and some bay, white spotted butts...I love appys.
I also love American paints...as on my business card.

I'm a barn manager, or at least thats the easiest way to explain it. lol I do everything that my clients dont want to do. And thats everything except ride their horses. lol

Then I have 3 of my own here at home. Ive helped rescue's, made some hard choices too.

OH cool...that's kind of what I went to college to do and then I moved here.

Oh I love seing before and after pics. The legs on that yearling... That was all from his feet being slippered? And with regular care they went back to normal? That is awsome!

So glad your rescues found their way to you.

I usually tend to take in older underweight horses. I love the oldsters! And have yet to find one that I couldn't bring back up to weight. Ive had a few that it was just kinder to let them go though. Thats a heartbreaking choice to make. But now I went and did something stupid. lol I brought home a 19 month old filly. lol Its only stupid because of her age, and because I plan to let her grow until at least 3 years of age. That means at least 1 1/2 years until she is started, and thats IF she is ready to be started... Guess she's stuck with me.

I was going to ask you where that one came from, I do not recall seeing when I was out there...but the prettiest is your pony !

No I have not lounged her yet, well at least not here at home. I did work with her a little where I got her, but the focus was more on getting her loaded. lol

And yes Lacy was here when you picked up the biddies. lol She was just behind the house. And I know, Teagan is the cutest little thing ever! Everyone who looks at his pictures dont believe that he is only 11 hands. lol

This is Teagan, he is an 8 year old, 11 hand Welsh Mountain pony. We brought him home as a ferral when he was 5.

Geeze I have a ton of horse paintings and drawings.
I sat for years and drew horses when I was a kid, ate, slept, rode horses.
16 hands did not stop me from riding even when I was 12 yo and younger.
OK, off to deal with reality and go to bed...chickies wake up early in the morning.

P.S. When we were in our tweens, DH came over (with his family) and I saddled up my Dad's standardred mare KIM, and my red appy, Soncerie, and off we went, until Kim got ants and barn sour did not want to go, so she peeled DH off on a tree...and he fell off like the city boy is WAS, then Kim was cornered so she came back and stomped DH"s ankle....I had to ride like the wind, all the way down 2 streets, 1 paved, to get to my family's house where his parents were visiting, and so his Dad (that has the pheasant farm) got in the brand new Cadillac Coup de ville (1968?) and drove right out into the cow psture and picked DH up...4 wheeling in a Caddy...ruby red convertible brand new caddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like a week old !!!!!!!!!!

...so he will not let me have horses anymore..............

That's what I want to do with him. He already ground drives, will wear a harness with no issue. Just need the cart, to get him going. lol

Nooo, I'm just still trying to find the hunchbacked old lady in your horse photo...

You really can't see her??? Look at the side of the horse, closer to her back hip.

Whew! Finally got smart and enlarged your photo and found her. Yes, profile facing left. Thank you for the clue - that would have driven me nuts all night!
