My bantam Am roo used to attack the fence every time I walked within 3 feet of it...until his first bath! He loved it, and has been a perfect gentleman ever since! He still watches me really closely when I'm messing with his ladies, but he's never tried anything, and that was 8 months ago.

On the other hand, I had a BR roo that was a POS, and it didn't matter what I tried with him, the day he jumped on the back of my legs and held onto my jeans was the day he went on CL, and I am sure became a wonderful dinner for the family that came and picked him up...

Cheryl - If you could hold them for me and I drop by to pick them up on Friday, that'd be great. . . Although I'd rather not come up to Seattle. We're going by Olympia on Friday, but we're not going up north. So, I'd say coming to Robin's place is much easier than going to Seattle.

However, we can't bring a truck/trailer to your place, Chickielady.

But I do have two BW Am pullets, already laying and fertile.

This is all very exciting as I live vicariously through you guys. But as a newbie, I'm still trying to catch up with the anagrams. I'm guessing Chickielady want Ameraucana pullets, but what does the BW stand for?

Glad you made it though the storm. Does anyone remember the famous Columbus day storm in the 1960s. Winds up to 90 miles an hour. I thought our house was going to blow off its blocks.

I remember that storm! I was about 5 years old at the time. I remember it being terribly frightening as I saw the adults around me worried. At one point, I recall watching out the front window of our living room to watch my uncles help a neighbor chase the hood of his car as it had been ripped off his vehicle and was being blown down the street end over end. That was certainly an eventful night!

I remember that storm !
Fishing boats FROZE to their docks in Coos Bay OR!!!
It was awful, trees down, roads washed out, and COLD to beat everything...at least this series is warm...just think if it was 30 or lower like it was on that Columbus Day storm !

My Elvis just did that but I had shorts and gum boots on.
Even though he has no spurs yet, I think it may be time out time, go to the extra large dog crate for a week or two.
How is the Chantecler ?
I've friends in Canada that are saying no way !

Well, I rushed home from an excessively busy day...made some quick dinnr as DH has no clue to get someting out and start it...and then off to the High schooler's band concert.

So now I am back home. Absolutely exhausted, but had an absolute ball at the vet's office. I will be working at the front desk, paperwork and people. I will walk dogs, feed critters, and do some cleaning in the back. Long term, I will get to help with some procedures and do other fun stuff in the back. I am very excited. Unfortunately, today there were 3 euthanasias...one of which were some friends of mine. I started crying. The vet made the comment what gentleman Kujo always was. He was 16 yo weiner dog. But, there were puppies that came in and kitties that I got to pet. The clinic has 3 clinic kitties and 2 clinic dogs. I was working on the computer on a client's file, and CC or DO would come and sit in my lap. I really enjoyed it.

thank you for asking.

My dream job...wit all my surgical assisting experience and front office experience and animals and ranch management experience, and the expert poo-picker-upper- and animal-bather that I am... the job eludes me....

How about does anyone remember the big "blow down" that happened right here 4 years ago !
Between us and Aberdeen there is MILES of trees blown down at 120 MPH.
South was the same, and here on this property, a 130 foot Spruce blew over and landed squarly down the length of a mobile home.
Boom!
No one was home but the crappy trailer caught fire and burned...we have remnants still....the tree was 5 foot through the butt, not quite as big as it's sister that we just had felled.
We also need a few other trees felled...(CR are you interested ???) and want someone to cut and help stack firewood from these big trees.
Lemme know~

Lol! I had the most crazy bantam Polish Roo -- Smoothie-- he was AWFUL, the kids wouldn't go in the chicken yard without a stick or long pants on.... He went away. Totally not normal for a Polish to behave that way either, I think he was a little 'touched' in his Polish head...

He was at the Puyallup Fair one year.. attacking anything he could thru the bars. Needed a Do Not Feed on his coop. (in fact, Do Not Even Come Near would have been better!)
