DIY - Just remember they are all Coturnix just different colors/sizes

Chickielady - The Space-bator runs like a dream! a perfect 100F with almost no flux in temps! I've got 26 Coturnix eggs in there and 10 button eggs. I set the Maran eggs last night too!

My roadkill rooster (the one that got scalped) is now out in the garden enjoying a solo day outside the med-ward. His scalp is growing back slowly from the edges, he will never be a pretty bird as I'm sure his head will be full of scar tissue and lack feathers but he sure is a friendly thing now. Follows me around the garden etc. (can't put him back with the others since they try and tear into him again even his hatchmates.)

You could also maybe get a playpen or alike a dog kennel, put down a piece of plywood or carpet and toys and shut her in there to play where you can see her and she can see you...would that work ?
I used a playpen with mine and then tied a blanket on top cuz my DD would escape lickity split and be in the creek faster than I could grab her.
I used to clothes pin the blanket on top, gave her safety and shade and I could get yardwork done.
Worked great.
I used a harness on DS..he would haul fanny right out into traffic !
Trying to push a stroller with DD and hold DS was a nightmare...so I got a kiddie halter and tied it to the stroller so he could not run off...he was bad about that, most little kids freak if their parents are gone from their sight...not my son, he was in heaven if we were out of sight, he was into eveything and was so hard to catch sometimes without leaving the stroller to run after him...I believe he did it for the attention so his sister would not have the attention...brat!
I saw a couple at a store not too long ago with a toddler on a kiddie harness that looked like he had a stuffed animal cat on his back hugging him, very cute and very smart!
Especially when the stores are crowded and it is so easy to loose a kid in a store right now...

Yeah it kinda seems that the work is never really complete... Especially if you have critters, property, and or kids to take care of. lol

this is very cool, would have to be done in the summer, and oh boy do we ever have clay!

I like the idea of putting bottles in the cob so the light penetrates...like a stained glass effect.
It is labor intensive but so easy to just do as the stuff used is laying here, straw, clay, I think I will pass on the poop.
But for now I will probably just get a 8x8 shed roof-type tiny house built.

I listed my BBS Marans flock, 2 roos and 6 hens that just started laying, $20 ea or all for $130 I think that is a bargain.
