Glad to hear that, I bought the mix! Do you put nuts in it? I think that was my most expensive grocery load, but if it clears her up, it is well worth it.

Now she wants carrot cake .... anybody have a GF recipe for that?

You can buy a Betty Crocker GF cake mix, or better yet Pamela's cake mix (her brownie mix is to die for too!!!!!!!!!) and get the vanilla mix, add spices like cinnemon & nutmeg, and carrots just like a real cake mix,( and I add squeezed shredded pineapple) and cook it up.
Then phylly cream cheese (if she can have dairy) and a few drops vanilla, and powdered sugar to make the cream cheese frosting.
Look up:
Gluten free Mom.com for good easy recipes.
I have found the best pizza crust mix (and the easiest) is Namaste.
Comes in a brown paper bag package.
You just add water & a little oil and "paint" it on a stick free pizza pan, sprayed with pam or wiped with oil & paper towel..spreading as far as you can...precook, and then adorn with your sauce & toppings of choice, really good !

Great! I think I saw those at QFC

Glad to hear you're okay CR. Also glad you went to the hospital when you did. Better to be safe.
Take care of yourself!

... and I do need a bracket, so I doubt there is extra - maybe the other way around. Take your time, don't push yourself. I'm in no hurry to make the drive downthere unless gas prices suddenly drop back down. If there is a little extra, maybe you can get your DW some flowers, cause I'm sure she had the cackle spackle scared outta her too! (I think all of us here did). By the way, I'm proud of you for asking your DD to take you to the hospital. I wish my father had done that. And even though it scared us too, I'm glad you posted and let us know.

I just got done cleaning the brooder again, and realized I left my computer mid-post a while back to go take a nap. Nothing like having 14 chicks in the house scratching away to show you where all the cobwebs are in the house! We have them down in the entryway, and now my house smells like a chicken coop

I clean the thing completely out a couple times a week, but it doesn't seem to help any, and now the jealous cats are trying compete with the odor by peeing on the floor! I want to throw all of them, chicks, cats, kids, DH, into the new coop so I can get the house clean and have it stay that way for a while. I can't nap when the house is a mess. It feels wrong. I'd stick the chicks out there if I could trust the heat lamp to stay on.

At what age do you let your chicks run around in the coop when the weather still gets into the 20's at night? (the coop does not get that cold inside ... and I'm going to put a board up against the chicken wire separating my hens from the chicks.)

Yes DW has been a trooper. She is wore out but doing good. I felt bad and since I didn't have any dessert for her I made her a SF cocanut cream pie but then it didn't set up so is in fridge and should be ok tomorrow. As for having DD drive I wasn't to the point that I was concerned much about driving but was concerned that IF they kept me DW would have no way home. Although I know I could have called Michelle and she would have been right there. We just have an understanding that if we need a ride we call the other. Michelle also told me tonight that she had already made plans to have DW taken care of for the weekend if need be.
